About Us
This group's purpose is to provide students with the opportunity to learn about wilderness medicine through a variety of workshops, seminars, and hands-on learning opportunities. Additionally, we will use our group to advocate for policies and social causes that make park access, locally to nationally, more equitable, conserve wildlife, and protect the climate. Some of the main activities include workshops on various survival and medical tactics in various climates, split workshops, dangerous and/or venomous plant/animal seminars, advocacy drives, community nights, and other seminars on careers and experiences in Wilderness Medicine. Students will be able to get involved in our group by engaging with our group through email and/or social media. We will be sure to publish events on social media such as Facebook and/or Instagram. WMIG will support member's health and wellbeing by providing a club for them to connect with like-minded individuals, empower and prepare them to feel safe exploring the outdoors, and provide opportunities for them to explore the outdoors in groups tailored to their skill and experience levels.
