Root & STEM is volunteer group for undergraduate women and gender minority students in STEM programs at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. We organize monthly social and outreach events where students can build relationships through a shared commitment to making a positive impact in our local community. By connecting our members to related volunteering opportunities in the Twin Cities area, we aim to support STEM participation and diversity within the greater community. Additionally, we partner with the U of M RecWell to host an annual youth summer program - called Rooted in STEM - which provides engaging activities to inspire a love for STEM in kids aged 9-12.
