The purpose of The Arab Band is to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Arab music within our community. We strive to promote cultural understanding and appreciation through the universal language of music. Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds can come together to share their passion for Arab musical traditions.
We welcome everyone, regardless of sex, race, religion, or sexual orientation to our group and events, which treat our audience to immersive experiences and culturally diverse music performances.
Members can join informative sessions on how to begin playing an instrument, delivered by informational sessions organized by The Arab Band. Members can evolve their skills to become performers at events. Such members will also experience other opportunities to get involved with The Arab Band.
Members can perform at The Arab Band events, upon showing strong capability in performing Arabic Music on Stage, and after committing to the practice sessions organized.
All UMN-TC students are also welcome to join the acting board, which exposes such members to leadership roles and helps The Arab Band reach its goal of promoting our culture through music.
