The name of the event is 3C & ISPHG which are short for Cross Cultural Connections and International Student Pre-Health Group, respectively. The purpose of this event is to build cross cultural friendships, culutral awareness and and build a supportive community that serves as a welcoming safety net for students navigating life far from home. The event takes place on 12/5/2025 at Sojourn Campus Church (310 18th Ave SE, Minneapolis). Kindly note that we merely use the main hall of the church to host our events and are not affiliated with the church directly. The projected attendance is about 70. The purpose of this event is to foster meaningful cross cultural friendships, enhance cultural understanding among students from diverse backgrounds, and build a sense of community for those who are far from home. ISPHG brings a unique perspective and niche demographic of international students who are also pre-health majors, further strengthening our joint mission to build community between international and American students all across the UMN campus and in different fields of study. English Club and ISPHG believe that by bringing students together through shared experiences, conversations, and cultural exchange, this event will help to create a welcoming environment where individuals feel seen and connected. This event serves as both a celebration of cultural diversity and a platform for forming lasting connections that contribute to students’ sense of belonging and well being on campus. The evening will follow a structured timing. Event leaders will arrive at 5:15 PM to begin setup of tables and chairs, and additional leaders bring in food by 5:45 PM. Attendees will begin arriving at 6:00 PM, and the evening kicks off with a short mixer activity at 6:20 PM to spark interaction and help people meet. A shared meal is served at 6:30 PM and enjoyed in community around tables until 7 PM, followed by an activity run by ISPHG to spread awareness about their student group and mission, and lastly a gingerbread making contest which will aid in encouraging small group engagement. At 8:00 PM, a leader will give closing announcements and formally end the gathering, though students are encouraged to continue mingling and connecting. Cleaning up will around 8:00 PM with the help of both 3C and ISPHG leaders and attendees, and will be completed by 9 PM.
