We're a co-ed group, meaning individuals of all genders are welcome to audition. 7Days performs at a variety of events all throughout the year; although we perform primarily in the Twin Cities area, we've traveled to places such as Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles to connect with other groups and perform at national A Cappella events!

Every year, 7Days competes in ICCA-- the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (think Pitch Perfect)! A Cause for Paws is dedicated to supporting animals by forming a community of animal lovers and volunteering together with rescues, sanctuaries, and shelters. As a group we participate in hands-on volunteer work. Such as visiting animal shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries to walk their animals, play with their animals, and any other needed volunteer work. We also attend various animal related events and host our own events on campus where we work on various types of animal related projects. We organize fundraising events to donate funds and projects to various animal shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries. Additionally, we work to spread information and awareness about where people can volunteer and donate, as well as any animal related events and opportunities they can be a part of.

A Helping Hand for the Homeless is a student group at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. Our goal is to bring warm clothing to homeless individuals in Minneapolis, Minnesota and to provide resources for them through a variety of means. We are currently working on partnering with homeless shelters in our local area, and our student group meetings will cover the logistics involving the setup of our events. Hello and welcome to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Actuary Club! We are a diverse organization with a membership base primarily comprised of actuarial students and recent graduates; however, we welcome people of any major, college, or university in the area. Our club’s mission is to help shape a foundation for success for our students.

We host meetings and information sessions throughout the year with thought leaders in the industry. We plan them carefully with the hope that they will provide great learning and networking opportunities for our members. In addition, we sponsor an internship and career fair every fall where actuarial students across the state gather to meet and network with companies and their representatives. This year, we will hold career workshops to help members develop their professional skills. Topics will include resume and cover letter writing, effective networking techniques, and interview preparation.

Please feel free to email us if you are a student looking to become a member or a company looking to become involved, we would love to have you! You can learn more about the Actuary Club during our meetings. Meetings are on Thursdays from 5:30-7 PM, and we always have free food! The locations will be posted and emailed to members. During the spring semester, meetings are not held every week.

The ACVP Student Chapter at the University of Minnesota is a graduate student organization associated with the College of Veterinary Medicine. Only DVM students may join. ADworld is a group of UMN students sharing interest in advertising and marketing. We conduct weekly meetings to promote productive discussions and produce creative deliverables.

The core value of ADworld is “creativity.” We foster creativity through various activities and marketing presentations. The group further promote the creative community by sharing our deliverables through social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Blog.

ADworld pursues academic excellence by sharing knowledge on advertising and marketing through weekly discussions. In addition, we practice real experiences by working as the marketing agency for real clients. Furthermore, we encourage members to participate in various competitions and activities to gain field experiences.

In addition to academic activities, we create an enjoyable environment through networking with industry-related personnel and social gathering within club members. We regularly communicate with former ADworld members who are working in the related field to get advice and understand the market trend. Also, in addition to regular meetings, we hold many social gatherings to strengthen cohesiveness.

These are our regular activities:

Real Client Marketing Project: Adworld conducts marketing projects for real clients to promote their businesses and increase their sales. As a marketing agency, we analyze their marketing strategies and give solutions. In addition, ADworld plans and carries out promotions through various channels.

Public Campaigns: We organize public campaigns to attract social attention on specific topics. Throughout the process, we practice planning skills and gain experience implementing it.

Marketing Competition: Our members participate in marketing competitions as a team to gain real field experiences such as corporate strategy, marketing plan, and promotional methodologies.

Marketing / Advertisement Related Topic Discussion: ADworld conducts in-depth academic discussions on topics related to advertising or marketing to accumulate knowledge and understand the trend of the industry.

The mission of this club is to raise awareness about public health issues and their impact on everyday life, with a special focus on African and African-descendant communities. As students, we aim to educate our peers and the surrounding communities about public health and help individuals better understand how to take control of their health and well-being.
With public health recently established as a major at the University of Minnesota, this club also seeks to increase awareness and understanding of the field among undergraduate students. We aim to introduce more students to what public health is, why it matters, and the academic and career opportunities it offers.
The club is dedicated to creating inclusive, educational spaces through discussions, workshops, and community engagement. Our focus areas include mental health awareness, drug and substance use education, nutrition and food security, disease prevention, and access to health resources. While our activities center on issues affecting African communities, the club is open and inclusive to all students and populations. The club also supports undergraduate students interested in public health by providing networking opportunities, peer mentorship, leadership development, and exposure to public health careers, research, and graduate pathways. Through education, service, and collaboration, the club aims to empower students and communities to become more informed, proactive, and engaged in public health.

Agni is an Indian Classical Dance Team specializing in the south Indian dance style, Bharatanatyam. We perform at on campus and off campus events and are transitioning into the national competitive circuit as well. Our practices and performances are currently fully in person and twice a week. Our mission: Agni Indian Classical Dance Team aims to provide an environment for individuals to embrace and immerse themselves in Indian culture and dance. Bharatanatyam is a popular dance form in the states, but many students lose touch with the art when they move to university. We strive to motivate individuals to get involved with their communities through dance and promote diversity through sharing our culture and art.

What do we do? Agni is a primarily Bharatanatyam-focused dance team, hence the name Agni, as Bharatanatyam represents the element of fire. We perform at on campus and off campus events and are looking into competitions as well. Our practices and performances are currently fully in person and twice a week for one hour each.

How can I get involved? At the beginning of each semester we hold a no-commitment workshop, where you'll learn a short piece (30sec-1min) that you can later choose to audition with. Results are announced within a week.

Leadership: As an Agni officer (President, Secretary, Marketing Director, or Finance Director), you learn organizational and management skills when reaching out to organizations for performances, coordinating practices, or advertising and promoting the group. In terms of dance, officers use choreography as a creative outlet and gain valuable teaching skills.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We are more than just a dance team, we provide a means to connect to our historical and cultural roots. Our main dance form is Bharatanatyam, a classical dance originating in Tamil Nadu, India over 3000 years ago. Modernized in the late 1900's it's an integral part of Indian culture and familiar throughout South Asia.

Recreation and Health: Being a part of Agni is a great way for you to express your passion for dance while maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. We motivate each other to step out of our comfort zones and become better dancers. Not only do we promote physical health, but also mental health, as we're a family where you can take a break from the stress of school and life in general!

Alpha Chi Sigma also organizes an annual Scouts BSA merit badge day where our members teach chemistry and engineering-related merit badges.

Professional events help connect members of the chapter with alumni of the fraternity who work in industry or academia, as well as UMN faculty. We work to connect each other with unique research and internship opportunities and help our members form a network of friends and colleagues in the field of chemistry.

The Kali Reinhardt Leadership Fund was created within the Alpha Phi Foundation to support the leadership development of the women of the Alpha Phi Epsilon Chapter. It honors Kali Reinhardt, a member of the Epsilon chapter from 2014-2018, who passed away in 2020. Kali held numerous leadership positions within the chapter, including Chapter President or “Prez Mama” as she was lovingly referred to. She was an outspoken advocate for female empowerment and pushed all the women in the chapter to be bold, support one another & take action on the things that matter.

In her honor, this fund provides retreats, educational seminars, Alpha Phi international events, and sisterhoods to invest in bold, brave female leaders like Kali. 

Her legacy will go on in perpetuity.

Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) is the international pharmacy leadership society. Our mission is to support pharmacy leadership commitment by recognizing leaders and fostering development.

What do we do:
-Host the PLS Leadership Symposium in the spring
-Provide pharmacy students with networking opportunities and workshops on developing their networking skills.
-Partner with other student organizations to provide a leadership emphasis to various events.

Students may apply to our PLS chapter at any time during their pharmacy career. Students who are accepted have shown significant leadership development in the profession of pharmacy and the motivation to continue their leadership development. Our application is open during the Fall semester and new member initiation takes place in early February. The American Indian Student Cultural Center is a great place to meet and relax between classes. We are located on the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus, in the Coffman Student Union. Our center is one of nine cultural spaces, located on the second floor of the student union.

We serve as a central meeting place for many American Indian student organizations including our own governing board. Our board of student officers are elected in the Spring Semester of every school year, and we work through out the year to provide programming that stimulates American Indian student leadership and to educate the greater student population about unique indigenous cultures.

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is a student branch of a larger professional organization dedicated to connecting students interested in Air and Space with other students, hobbyists, professionals, and academics in the Aeronautics and Astronautics field. The student group engages with the community in the technical, social, and professional aspects.

In the technical realm, UMN AIAA directly sponsors 3 project teams. The Design, Build, Fly team designs and build remote controlled and autonomous unmanned airplanes to accomplish the missions laid out by the competition! The Alpha Drone team is the state champion drone racing team at UMN. The CanSat design team designs and builds systems that complete a challenged after being released from a low altitude sounding rocket.

Socially, AIAA provides a safe and inclusive place to connect with other students and student groups. Events such as study and trivia nights help build friendships with like minded students! Additionally, AIAA works to improve the community around us, often in collaboration with the Twin Cities AIAA professional chapter. The group organizes outreach events to K-12 schools in the community. Furthermore, UMN AIAA has started a diversity and inclusivity initiative, holding technical development workshops to help give every student every opportunity to succeed.

Professionally, the AIAA student chapter hosts networking events and an aerospace oriented career fair to help connect students with internships and research opportunities! AIAA also provides scholarship and travel opportunities for interested and qualified students.

The Asylum Law Project will endeavor to strengthen and support UMN Law Students in their journeys to become effective legal advocates.

ALP is an organization maintained by first-year law students in order to serve first-year law students and L.L.M. students at the University of Minnesota. After joining ALP, students share their trip placement interest and language skills with the ALP board. The board then matches those criteria with the needs of participating organizations. Participants volunteer on week-long service trips over the Winter or Spring Breaks.

Beginners with Brushes’ mission is to provide a relaxing and comfortable environment for all members to practice creativity through painting and socializing safely.

Our community values are focused on mental health and wellness. We support mental health by strongly encouraging creativity and community. The Bengali Student Society of Minnesota (BSSM) is a registered student organization of the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis that strives to promote inter-cultural exchange on campus by showcasing the different aspects of Indian, and particularly Bengali, culture. By organizing several events on campus throughout the year, BSSM tries to bring a flavor of East-Indian socio-cultural activities to the heart of Twin Cities.

BSSM was formed in 2005 by a small group of graduate students with the aim of bringing together Bengali students all over the campus. Over the years, BSSM has metamorphosed into a diverse student body representing the culture and traditions of West Bengal, Bangladesh and surrounding areas and currently has about 100 members. It has among our members, not only expatriates from these regions but also other people who have an interest in the Bengali culture and way of life.
As an association, we host various events throughout the year such as Durga Puja, known as one of the biggest festivals in India, Bengali new year celebrations, freshers' welcome parties and get-togethers. We celebrate Indian festivals intertwined with the essence of Bengali culture through food, music, dance, skit, etc. As we treat humanity as our religion, we welcome everybody, irrespective of their ethnic background, religion, and social status to join our activities and events to make our lives a little better and happier.

Beta of Clovia is an academic and social sorority located on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Founded in 1937, Clovia originally enabled college girls with 4-H backgrounds to live together while attending university. Through the years, Clovia has grown to include young women of many different backgrounds who participate in community service projects, a variety of campus activities and work to achieve high academic merit while studying at the University of Minnesota.

Beta of Clovia helps young women cultivate leadership skills, gain a sense of social identity, promote a sense of sisterhood, and engage with the community through service. Our members work to pursue life with Beta of Clovia’s seven purposes in mind.

Our goal is science communication and promoting understanding of scientific literature by making it more accessible.
We will send out a newsletter once every two weeks via email, which will lay out new findings in various fields of biology, summarized in layman terms (from ~10 research papers). This newsletter will summarize factual biological information from the studies and also provide links to each study referenced. We also plan on promoting community engagement through lab tours and journal club meetings with interested readers (tentative- will depend on reader preferences).

Biology Without Borders has a mission to serve the community first, both domestically and abroad, and second to develop future leaders in global health that are educated on ethical service that empowers others and that improves health to allow others to not only survive, but to thrive. This means that our primary goal as members of the global health community is to learn how to serve humbly and without oppression so that we can help those who need it most effectively.

Our primary projects for the upcoming year and summer include teaching English classes via Zoom with our partner abroad in Thailand (KWAT) and holding various events throughout the year to bring undergraduate students interested in global health together.

The Black Graduate Collective (BGC) was established to combat isolation and engage and support graduate and professional students of African descent. BGC works at a unique interface to bring professional and graduate students together through social networking events, community service, professional development workshops, and educational forums.
