7Days A Cappella is the oldest A Cappella group at the University of Minnesota! We're a co-ed group, meaning individuals of all genders are welcome to audition. 7Days performs at a variety of events all throughout the year; although we perform primarily in the Twin Cities area, we've traveled to places such as Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles to connect with other groups and perform at national A Cappella events!

Every year, 7Days competes in ICCA-- the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (think Pitch Perfect)! A Cause for Paws is dedicated to supporting animals by forming a community of animal lovers and volunteering together with rescues, sanctuaries, and shelters. As a group we participate in hands-on volunteer work. Such as visiting animal shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries to walk their animals, play with their animals, and any other needed volunteer work. We also attend various animal related events and host our own events on campus where we work on various types of animal related projects. We organize fundraising events to donate funds and projects to various animal shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries. Additionally, we work to spread information and awareness about where people can volunteer and donate, as well as any animal related events and opportunities they can be a part of.

Hello and welcome to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Actuary Club! We are a diverse organization with a membership base primarily comprised of actuarial students and recent graduates; however, we welcome people of any major, college, or university in the area. Our club’s mission is to help shape a foundation for success for our students.

We host meetings and information sessions throughout the year with thought leaders in the industry. We plan them carefully with the hope that they will provide great learning and networking opportunities for our members. In addition, we sponsor an internship and career fair every fall where actuarial students across the state gather to meet and network with companies and their representatives. This year, we will hold career workshops to help members develop their professional skills. Topics will include resume and cover letter writing, effective networking techniques, and interview preparation.

Please feel free to email us if you are a student looking to become a member or a company looking to become involved, we would love to have you! You can learn more about the Actuary Club during our meetings. Meetings are on Thursdays from 5:30-7 PM, and we always have free food! The locations will be posted and emailed to members. During the spring semester, meetings are not held every week.

The ACVP Student Chapter at the University of Minnesota is a graduate student organization associated with the College of Veterinary Medicine. Only DVM students may join. In association with the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and our own UMN Pathology Department staff, we work to create opportunities for vet students to learn more about both clinical and anatomical pathology via lectures and wet labs. The mission of this club is to raise awareness about public health issues and their impact on everyday life, with a special focus on African and African-descendant communities. As students, we aim to educate our peers and the surrounding communities about public health and help individuals better understand how to take control of their health and well-being.
With public health recently established as a major at the University of Minnesota, this club also seeks to increase awareness and understanding of the field among undergraduate students. We aim to introduce more students to what public health is, why it matters, and the academic and career opportunities it offers.
The club is dedicated to creating inclusive, educational spaces through discussions, workshops, and community engagement. Our focus areas include mental health awareness, drug and substance use education, nutrition and food security, disease prevention, and access to health resources. While our activities center on issues affecting African communities, the club is open and inclusive to all students and populations. The club also supports undergraduate students interested in public health by providing networking opportunities, peer mentorship, leadership development, and exposure to public health careers, research, and graduate pathways. Through education, service, and collaboration, the club aims to empower students and communities to become more informed, proactive, and engaged in public health.

Agni is an Indian Classical Dance Team specializing in the south Indian dance style, Bharatanatyam. We perform at on campus and off campus events and are transitioning into the national competitive circuit as well. Our practices and performances are currently fully in person and twice a week. Our mission: Agni Indian Classical Dance Team aims to provide an environment for individuals to embrace and immerse themselves in Indian culture and dance. Bharatanatyam is a popular dance form in the states, but many students lose touch with the art when they move to university. We strive to motivate individuals to get involved with their communities through dance and promote diversity through sharing our culture and art.

What do we do? Agni is a primarily Bharatanatyam-focused dance team, hence the name Agni, as Bharatanatyam represents the element of fire. We perform at on campus and off campus events and are looking into competitions as well. Our practices and performances are currently fully in person and twice a week for one hour each.

How can I get involved? At the beginning of each semester we hold a no-commitment workshop, where you'll learn a short piece (30sec-1min) that you can later choose to audition with. Results are announced within a week.

Leadership: As an Agni officer (President, Secretary, Marketing Director, or Finance Director), you learn organizational and management skills when reaching out to organizations for performances, coordinating practices, or advertising and promoting the group. In terms of dance, officers use choreography as a creative outlet and gain valuable teaching skills.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We are more than just a dance team, we provide a means to connect to our historical and cultural roots. Our main dance form is Bharatanatyam, a classical dance originating in Tamil Nadu, India over 3000 years ago. Modernized in the late 1900's it's an integral part of Indian culture and familiar throughout South Asia.

Recreation and Health: Being a part of Agni is a great way for you to express your passion for dance while maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. We motivate each other to step out of our comfort zones and become better dancers. Not only do we promote physical health, but also mental health, as we're a family where you can take a break from the stress of school and life in general!

We participate in a variety of outreach events across the Twin Cities where we conduct chemical demonstrations for children, families, or more general audiences. Alpha Chi Sigma also organizes an annual Scouts BSA merit badge day where our members teach chemistry and engineering-related merit badges.

Professional events help connect members of the chapter with alumni of the fraternity who work in industry or academia, as well as UMN faculty. We work to connect each other with unique research and internship opportunities and help our members form a network of friends and colleagues in the field of chemistry.

Alpha Phi Foundation :
In 1956, Alpha Phi became one of the first women’s fraternities to establish a Foundation. It was created as a trust agreement to award scholarships and promote cardiac aid. Today, the original priorities hold true in our five vital programs:

- Supporting innovative leadership training and programming led by Alpha Phi Fraternity
- Awarding scholarships to undergraduate and graduate Alpha Phis
- Investing in the advancement of women’s heart health
- Helping members in need through the Forget Me Not Grant Fund

The Kali Reinhardt Leadership Fund was created within the Alpha Phi Foundation to support the leadership development of the women of the Alpha Phi Epsilon Chapter. It honors Kali Reinhardt, a member of the Epsilon chapter from 2014-2018, who passed away in 2020. Kali held numerous leadership positions within the chapter, including Chapter President or “Prez Mama” as she was lovingly referred to. She was an outspoken advocate for female empowerment and pushed all the women in the chapter to be bold, support one another & take action on the things that matter.

In her honor, this fund provides retreats, educational seminars, Alpha Phi international events, and sisterhoods to invest in bold, brave female leaders like Kali. 

Her legacy will go on in perpetuity.

Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) is the international pharmacy leadership society. Our mission is to support pharmacy leadership commitment by recognizing leaders and fostering development.

What do we do:
-Host the PLS Leadership Symposium in the spring
-Provide pharmacy students with networking opportunities and workshops on developing their networking skills.
-Partner with other student organizations to provide a leadership emphasis to various events.
-Recognize leadership throughout the College of Pharmacy through our monthly newsletters, non-positional leadership award, and kudos board.

Membership Details:
Students may apply to our PLS chapter at any time during their pharmacy career. Students who are accepted have shown significant leadership development in the profession of pharmacy and the motivation to continue their leadership development. Our application is open during the Fall semester and new member initiation takes place in early February. Once students have been initiated into PLS, they will have access to events available to members only, the support from our chapter to create initiatives to better the College of Pharmacy, and many networking opportunities with current PLS members and alumni.

Alpha Psi is a professional veterinary fraternity. The University of Minnesota Nu Chapter was established in 1957. Alpha Psi promotes the importance of being active within the college, developing leadership skills, and educating the public about the veterinary profession. The members of Alpha Psi work to provide an informal, relaxed refuge from the stresses of vet school. Welcome! We are the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Sigma Kappa - Women in Technical Studies at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. SCAAEP is the regional Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. We are a group of students interested in pursuing and/or learning more about equine medicine and the role of an equine practitioner.

The SCAAEP Mission is to educate students, play a role in the community, promote equine health and welfare, and gain hands on
experience.

SCAAEP events include wet labs, lunch and learns, resident and hospital rounds, and social events. SCAAEP members also have the chance to attend events through an AAEP membership such as the National Convention and Essential Skills Workshop. All of SCAAEP's events are centered around educating members on different topics in equine medicine and opportunities for continuing education such as externships/internships and career avenues.

The American Indian Student Cultural Center is a great place to meet and relax between classes. We are located on the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus, in the Coffman Student Union. Our center is one of nine cultural spaces, located on the second floor of the student union.

We serve as a central meeting place for many American Indian student organizations including our own governing board. Our board of student officers are elected in the Spring Semester of every school year, and we work through out the year to provide programming that stimulates American Indian student leadership and to educate the greater student population about unique indigenous cultures.

Our space is equipped with resources that make student life a bit more convenient. We have couches, tables, computers, a kitchen area with refrigerator and microwave. We also provide a space for students to decompress and smudge. For more information, see contact information below.

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is a student branch of a larger professional organization dedicated to connecting students interested in Air and Space with other students, hobbyists, professionals, and academics in the Aeronautics and Astronautics field. The student group engages with the community in the technical, social, and professional aspects.

In the technical realm, UMN AIAA directly sponsors 3 project teams. The Design, Build, Fly team designs and build remote controlled and autonomous unmanned airplanes to accomplish the missions laid out by the competition! The Alpha Drone team is the state champion drone racing team at UMN. The CanSat design team designs and builds systems that complete a challenged after being released from a low altitude sounding rocket.

Socially, AIAA provides a safe and inclusive place to connect with other students and student groups. Events such as study and trivia nights help build friendships with like minded students! Additionally, AIAA works to improve the community around us, often in collaboration with the Twin Cities AIAA professional chapter. The group organizes outreach events to K-12 schools in the community. Furthermore, UMN AIAA has started a diversity and inclusivity initiative, holding technical development workshops to help give every student every opportunity to succeed.

Professionally, the AIAA student chapter hosts networking events and an aerospace oriented career fair to help connect students with internships and research opportunities! AIAA also provides scholarship and travel opportunities for interested and qualified students.

The Bengali Student Society of Minnesota (BSSM) is a registered student organization of the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis that strives to promote inter-cultural exchange on campus by showcasing the different aspects of Indian, and particularly Bengali, culture. By organizing several events on campus throughout the year, BSSM tries to bring a flavor of East-Indian socio-cultural activities to the heart of Twin Cities.

BSSM was formed in 2005 by a small group of graduate students with the aim of bringing together Bengali students all over the campus. Over the years, BSSM has metamorphosed into a diverse student body representing the culture and traditions of West Bengal, Bangladesh and surrounding areas and currently has about 100 members. It has among our members, not only expatriates from these regions but also other people who have an interest in the Bengali culture and way of life.
As an association, we host various events throughout the year such as Durga Puja, known as one of the biggest festivals in India, Bengali new year celebrations, freshers' welcome parties and get-togethers. We celebrate Indian festivals intertwined with the essence of Bengali culture through food, music, dance, skit, etc. As we treat humanity as our religion, we welcome everybody, irrespective of their ethnic background, religion, and social status to join our activities and events to make our lives a little better and happier.

Beta of Clovia is an academic and social sorority located on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Founded in 1937, Clovia originally enabled college girls with 4-H backgrounds to live together while attending university. Through the years, Clovia has grown to include young women of many different backgrounds who participate in community service projects, a variety of campus activities and work to achieve high academic merit while studying at the University of Minnesota.

Beta of Clovia helps young women cultivate leadership skills, gain a sense of social identity, promote a sense of sisterhood, and engage with the community through service. Our members work to pursue life with Beta of Clovia’s seven purposes in mind.

We will send out a newsletter once every two weeks via email, which will lay out new findings in various fields of biology, summarized in layman terms (from ~10 research papers). We’re always down to talk about books, and that’s a big part of our club, but we do so much more too. Every month we hold two meetings: one to discuss a book together and one to do a fun activity. We pick from different genres, authors, and styles, so that everyone has the chance to find something for them—whether it be a long-time favorite or a pleasant new discovery.

If books aren't really your thing, you might enjoy our second type of monthly meeting, where we meet up to watch a movie, play a game, or just hang out together. More than just a place for dispassionate analysis, we aim to create a caring community.

We also seek to engage with the wider community of Minneapolis, helping to support an exploration of literature and a love of reading however we can. by holding volunteering events in the cities.

All meetings are voluntary; we really just want everyone to have a good time! We know the school year can get super busy, so even if you don’t have time to read the book of the month, or you only read part of it, you are welcome at all meetings. If you don’t want to talk, that’s okay too. This is meant to be fun, so feel free to participate in the club however would be best for you.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an extremely effective martial art style in which technique and skill can allow smaller opponents to defeat larger, stronger opponents.
Our club is committed to offering basic level instruction in a safe and controlled training environment for anyone who is interested in learning.

Our group's mission is to train leaders, entrepreneurs and change makers in both the public and private sectors, to connect the Brazilian community and Latinx in Minneapolis, and to provide support for Brazilians who are newcomers and who are considering studying in Minneapolis.

We host events during the academic year to engage Brazilian students and to showcase Brazilian culture to all UMN students. Some of the events include the Brazilian Carnival, the Brigadeiro fundraiser, and the Brazilian Barbeque, among others.

The purpose of this NGO is to raise money and awareness for underserved students in Bali, Indonesia. We aim to fundraise and donate 100 percent of our funds to a group of small after-school learning centers in Bali, where students will receive a free education in English, life skills, and computer skills. We will raise money to support existing programs as well as provide funding to build new classrooms and other needed materials such as computers, desks, or school supplies. The CEHD International Student Community (CISC) represents international students pursuing education at the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). In 2022, the CISC was founded by members who believe that a community of international students within CEHD is essential to enhancing mutual learning, increasing our presence, and advocating for our needs. The community at the college level is crucial in light of the fact that we share similar interests and challenges.

The aims of CISC are:
To serve as the voice of international students at CEHD by advocating for their rights and interests within CEHD and beyond.
To provide activities specifically designed to meet the needs of CEHD international students, including fun gatherings and academic and career development sessions.
To promote and facilitate conversations between CEHD international students and the university to advocate on behalf of their needs.
To orient international students to the resources available within the University of Minnesota and CEHD.
To create a sense of belonging to CEHD by having a community for international students within CEHD

Activities we offer are:
Engaging activities that CEHD international students get to know each other to build a community
Academic and career seminars that are specifically designed for CEHD international students
Discussion spaces to talk about our struggles and to think strategy for navigation (what needs to be done/changed by College/department/program)

All CEHD international students are welcome to join and organize the program. Our community is open to everyone who is a CEHD international student and who is interested in doing something for this community, so we are always looking for peers. We encourage many CEHD students to bring their own ideas for events. We plan the events together with our peers and offer them as CISC events. We are looking forward to hearing new ideas from you!

We have weekly workouts every Monday around 6PM, where we work with different studios to try different workouts so members can find their fit. We also have socials once to twice a month where our members have the opportunity to connect with each other outside from working out. This can be watching a movie, craft night, studying, cooking/baking together, tie dying, + more!

Members also have the opportunity to be in a small group which meets weekly + they choose based off their schedule ++ availability. This is a group of 4-9 members that has a small group coordinator to lead each session! This allows for a more intimate sense of community where you workout, go get coffee, or have a movie night together!

Emphasizing the sense of community and adequate oral health within younger generations, Children's Dental Health Advocates (CDHA) drives to raise awareness about the importance of oral healthcare specifically to the lower income students that go to elementary schools in the inner-cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Through fun activities and events hosted by our members, volunteering from our club as a whole, donation of dental supplies, enjoyable educational videos, and so much more. Our mission is to showcase the importance of oral health care especially at a young age, while establishing meaningful relationships and fun memories with the youth!

Some other activities include:
- Tooth brush tally competition between each classroom. This is where we give kids in each classroom at an elementary school a tally chart for each day they brush and floss. The most tallies from a classroom and their students, that classroom will be the winner amongst all the other classrooms and win prizes!
- Host community wide painting/ drawing competition between different elementary schools and their students. Winner will recieve dental supplies and cute awards!
- Have fundraising stands, and events up to help raise money!

Choreo Oreos seeks to contribute to the growth and development of the Minnesota dance community by exposing pour members to various different dance styles including but not limited to Hip-hop, Contemporary, Afro and etc. We firmly believe that by working together, we can create a vibrant dance culture and encourage dancers to express themselves through movement.

In addition to the artistic aspect, our organization also aims to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among participants.
