The ADEA Chapter for Students, Residents and Fellows at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is free to join for all students in the DH, DT, and DDS programs, as well as residents and fellows in the field of dentistry. Events are open to all students, residents, and fellows. Membership provides access to leadership roles and planning for events such as sticker and succulent sales, lunch and learns, and faculty panels. Additionally, members are able to attend the ADEA Annual Conference in the spring, which is a national event.

The Aging Studies Interdisciplinary Group (ASIG) is a collaborative organization for graduate, professional, and undergraduate students studying aging in programs across the University. The Community Engagement Scholars Program (CESP) is a program for students who want to make a commitment to community engagement during their undergraduate experience. Students complete 400 hours of community engagement work, participate in reflective workshops and assignments, and complete a 1 credit senior capstone project. Because of the rigorous nature of the program, students are also recognized by the Board of Regents with a notation on their official transcript and a medal of distinction. The program is open to all undergraduate students in every major and college. The Community Engagement Scholars Program Leaders Board works to build community within the program by planning social events, hosting student-led conferences, leading workshops, and encouraging UMN students to join CESP.

The Commuter Connection aims to foster a relationship between commuter students and the University of Minnesota campus community. Our purpose is to simply provide a welcoming space, both physical and digital, for commuter students to interact with one another and gain access to campus resources.

Our space in the Memorial Union, Room 204, is open to all students but is specifically targeted towards the needs and interests of commuter students. Our room provides storage space, free printing, microwave, fridge, utensils, and leisure space that fit the needs of many students who commute to campus. In addition to these resources, our room is also a space where commuter students can meet, get to know one another, and build a sense of community. Finding opportunities to connect with other students outside of the classroom is essential in the commuter student experience. We host events such as Scary-Oke, Pal-entine's Day, game nights, Muffin Mondays, and more to encourage students to create long lasting relationships that will follow them through their time as a student at the U of M. We are also open to collaborations with other student groups, including the wonderful cultural centers that we share space with at the Memorial Union. Some of our other programming includes our Discord server, and other virtual forms of programming and communication.

The mission of the Minnesota Undergraduate Research & Academic Journal (MURAJ) is to engage undergraduate students across the University of Minnesota in the collaborative and educational process of assembling an academic journal that celebrates the breadth and depth of innovative thinking among undergraduate students. MURAJ showcases undergraduate research through a publication process that engages students throughout, with students contributing as authors, reviewers, and editors for the journal. Each manuscript published in MURAJ should embody three principles:
Academic rigor: The manuscript represents serious and involved academic or creative study, recognizing that research can take many different forms across disciplines;
Professionalism: The manuscript meets the appropriate aesthetic, formatting, and presentation standards expected for a publication in the given field of study;
Intellectual merit: The manuscript proposes an advancement to current knowledge, and contains important and well-supported arguments to benefit their specific academic field.

MURAJ seeks to provide an enriching educational experience to students involved in all aspects of the journal. Furthermore, MURAJ will actively work to maintain open accessibility to all students at the University of Minnesota by providing the journal in a free, accessible, and online format and promoting it to all students on campus. In pursuit of this aim, MURAJ looks to provide development opportunities for reviewers and editors in addition to the publication process for the authors.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Program (MLK) Student Advisory Board provides insight into emerging student issues and makes recommendations to the MLK staff regarding student-centered program goals. The board will assess existing programs, identify areas where students need more support, and suggest recommendations to meet student needs better. Comprising 8 MLK scholars, the board will meet monthly with two Staff members from the MLK Academic Advising Program to evaluate current initiatives and collaborate on ways to center students' experiences in alignment with our mission and services.

The Science and Engineering Student Board (SESB) is the official undergraduate governing body of the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering (CSE). SESB aims to promote collaboration between students, student groups, staff, and faculty, as well as academic and social engagement in CSE through its numerous yearly events. SESB provides students with regular opportunities for service and outreach to the University and neighboring communities. SESB offers students the opportunity to gain leadership experience and prepares them to bridge the gap between college and life beyond the University. The University Speech Team is a student-led, collegiate speech team that aims to hone public speaking and argumentation skills while having fun! The team travels across the country to compete in speech tournaments between September and April, including national tournaments like the National Forensic Association (NFA) and the American Forensic Association (AFA).

There are 11 different events students may participate in that span public address, limited preparation, and interpretation. Past speeches have included an informative speech about crafting as a form of activism, a humorous speech about how racial imposter syndrome disproportionately impacts multiracial people, and a dramatic interpretation of the ongoing gaslighting of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Most importantly, the team strives to support students' academic journeys, develop friendships with speakers nationwide, and uplift students to be authentic. Through speech, we hope students discover communications skills they can use to advocate for a more just world. Past speakers have pursued law degrees, PhDs in communication, careers in journalism, and many more professional endeavors!

Tau Sigma is an academic honor society designed specifically to "recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students."

Our group host study events and social events throughout the semester for members to interact and help them build a community with other transfer students and Tau Sigma members. We host an annual induction ceremony for new members and host a dinner with an Office of Undergraduate Education administrator each semester.
Membership in Tau Sigma is available to students after they complete their 1st semester at the U of M. This is because membership is based upon students' 1st semester U of M GPA (3.5 or higher), completion of a full load of credits that semester on an A-F grading basis, and the number of credits transferred to the U of M. Students who are eligible for admission to Tau Sigma are automatically sent an invitation to join at that time.

Our group works to create a fun and positive environment for its members by hosting multiple events throughout the semester to help members foster a sense of community within the transfer students community and the university community as a whole. We also partner with the University Transfer Students Board to host some events and help expand the community within university transfer students.

The University of Minnesota Rocket Team is committed to providing its members with hands-on engineering experience by designing, building, and launching high-powered rockets.

Our student-run organization competes in the Spaceport America Cup (SAC) competition annually. We also manage an R&D High Altitude project centered around surpassing our personal records with the eventual goal of reaching space.

Some of the team's most recent successes include winning the 30k Solid SRAD category at the Spaceport America Cup in 2023 and 2024, as well as the James Barrowman Award for Flight Dynamics in 2023 for being within 0.18% of our simulated altitude!

Other successes include winning the overall competition at SAC 2021, winning the 30k Solid SRAD category at SAC 2021 and 2019, and placing 1st overall at the Midwest Rocketry Competition 2019 and in the Alka Rocket Challenge in 2019. Our highest recorded altitude as a team is currently 44,910 ft, set by our High Altitude project at Spaceport America.

About: Undergraduate Physiology Society [UPS] (not to be confused with the United Parcel Service) is a group of University of Minnesota undergraduate students who are passionate about physiology and the human body. Founded in 2009, UPS is student-governed, and affiliated with the department of Integrative Biology and Physiology, with Dr. Vincent Barnett as our advisor. Although many members are physiology majors, this is not a requirement for membership, and we encourage non-majors to attend our meetings and events. UPS serves to build a community between undergraduate physiology majors, as well as any students interested in the field of human physiology. UPS has social and educational events several times per month, along with service projects to build the growing community of undergraduate students interested in physiology. We introduce guest speakers at each meeting, including IBP faculty and staff, physiology alumni, professors and TAs, and more. UPS also organizes tours of research labs and field trips to events in the surrounding community.

Welcome to the page for the University of Minnesota Fencing Club!

Whether you've been fencing for a long time, or have never tried it before, we encourage all students with an interest in fencing to join our club.

We practice with drills and bouting, and fence against other schools in the Midwestern Fencing Conference at competitions throughout the year (including University of Wisconsin, University of Iowa, Northwestern University, and Lawrence University), and host several individual tournaments at the University Recreation and Wellness Center per year.

Our current practice schedule is Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm-9pm, Wednesday from 6pm-8pm, and Saturdays from 1pm-3pm in Cooke 308 (enter through the RecWell main entrance). If you have even a slight interest in fencing, we hope to see you there!

Minnesota Men’s Crew is a nationally competitive rowing team open to all students. Most of our team members began with no rowing experience before stepping foot in the boathouse, so we welcome anyone looking to learn something new, work hard in a fun team atmosphere, and reach a level of rowing that challenges even some of the D1 collegiate rowing programs across the country! With a supportive, competitive, and motivating environment, our club strives to help members grow as athletes and individuals.

During the school year, our team practices on the Mississippi River in the late afternoon Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings. During the winter months, we continue to practice by utilizing equipment at the Irene Claudia Kroll Boathouse. During the fall and spring semesters, we compete against other collegiate programs at home and away regattas on some weekends. This includes the ACRA National Championship Regatta where we face some of the top club rowing programs in the country to wrap up our spring season!

Our team is a member of GymACT, a national association of competitive club gymnastics teams, which hosts a national championship at the end of the season. Our mission is to sponsor and organize Ultimate at all levels of competition for all interested members of the University of Minnesota community, and to provide quality fun and competitive opportunities for new and experienced players. This includes a range of activities from non-competitive pickup games to highly competitive intercollegiate and club tournament play.
We have three teams as part of our club, with various levels of commitment and competitiveness. Because of this, we cut nobody from our program. There is a spot for everyone on one of our three teams. Our A team competes at a national level, travelling to play teams from across the country. Our B and C teams are quality developmental teams that compete and travel on a regional level.

The mission of UMN NeuroNetwork will be to work with students, staff, and faculty within the Neuroscience Department and create an environment that fosters a sense of community and belonging for Neuroscience majors and minors. This will be done by hosting recreational events for students and staff and providing research and volunteer opportunities for students within Neuroscience. Students will be able to interconnect with each other and with the Neuroscience faculty to create a stronger connection and a sense of belonging.

We aim to target students from all backgrounds and different interests. We encourage all students to participate in the events and activities hosted by the executive board including students from historically underrepresented backgrounds, this includes and not limited to Black, Indigenous, and students of Color, LGBTQIIA + students, students with disabilities, and international students.

University of Minnesota Robotics is a student organization at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. We have three major goals: to design and build robots, to support the FIRST Robotics program in the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas, and to host outreach events to raise awareness of robotics and STEM education.

Currently, our teams compete Lunabotics, VexU, and Robomaster competitions. Additionally, we participate in non-competitive robot builds, including Robot in 3 Days (RI3D).

Outside of competition, we mentor local robotics teams, volunteer at regional events, and facilitate workshops for K-12 students in Minnesota.

The Tae Kwon Do Club is a small but dedicated club that provides a space to learn and practice Tae Kwon Do. Additionally, we also teach self-defense, tricking, grappling, and general conditioning. Anyone can join any practice at any date, as long as they show up ready for exercise!

Tae Kwon Do is an excellent workout and helps develop both strength and flexibility. We also have an amazing community of members with shared interests, but greatly diverse experiences and backgrounds, inside and outside of Tae Kwon Do.

Welcome to the official page for the University of Minnesota Club Tennis Team! We are a student-run organization that combines a fun atmosphere with a competitive spin. We encourage all skill and interest levels to come try-out for the 2024-2025 academic year!

The University of Minnesota Undergraduate Mock Trial Association is a student organization that competes in intercollegiate mock trial competitions. Each year, students receive a packet of case materials from the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) and prepare a presentation of both sides of the issue. Students then travel around the state, region, and country competing against other colleges in tournaments. The activity is an excellent avenue to develop public speaking, critical thinking, trial advocacy, and teamwork skills.

Our overall purpose is to provide an avenue for students from diverse disciplines and fields of study to interact, exchange ideas, and gain a better understanding of the legal profession. It is also to participate competitively in the activities of AMTA including Invitational, Regional, and National Tournaments.

Each trial consists of a prosecution or plaintiff team from one college and a defense team from another. Teams form a case theory and select witnesses from a pool, weighing the value of the testimony from each option to structure the narrative of their case. Teams present opening and closing statements, their own witnesses, as well as cross-examine the opposing side's witnesses. Some students perform as attorneys and are scored on their ability to make arguments, question witnesses, and respond to changing circumstances in the trial. Other students are scored as witnesses and are responsible for bringing one of the witnesses from the case to life.

We are the Women's Club Hockey team at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. As a team we compete nationally in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1, and as members of the Women's Midwest College Hockey League (WMCHL). We emphasize the importance of academics, a balanced college life, and support our players as they prepare for their future endeavors!

Mission
The goal of this club is to allow students to play competitive volleyball at the collegiate level. We provide the opportunity to continue one's competitive volleyball career without having to commit to a varsity collegiate program. This club is not the same as intramural volleyball as it requires a more experienced level of play.

Members of this club can expect to participate in practices twice a week and compete in 3 to 4 tournaments a semester. The teams will travel to the NCVF National Tournament at the conclusion of the spring season.

Prospective players are required to tryout for a team. Tryouts are held in September for the fall season and again in January for the spring season.

Our club is a competitive women's rugby team. We welcome everyone, regardless of prior experience or skill level. We strive to provide a holistic, team-oriented experience on and off the field. We work to develop the skills of the individual athlete while also playing with a strong team mindset at a highly competitive level. We create an environment for all our players past, present, and future to grow both as athletes, and as empowered young women.
During a normal season we practice up to three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Saturdays, we travel to and play against other universities in our division. Travel to and from games is provided for all players, and practices are held on campus and easily accessible by university buses.


Minnesota has a very strong rugby community and our team is lucky to be a part of it. We actively work to engage with our alumni to provide current players with meaningful connections and opportunities within the community and beyond the team. We also work to provide a positive and fun environment for all club members.

The United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) Chapter here at the University of Minnesota, works closely with the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance. USITT is a student group focusing on theater tech and design, and we seek to supplement skills learned in tech classes and create a supportive network for students. We seek to build our member's professional connections and learning opportunities through sessions with local professionals. VeTouch is a non-profit veterinary student club that provides basic pet care and nutritional support to low or no-income Twin Cities families. The volunteers are veterinary students who also have the opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience while promoting the human-animal bond and establishing a client-veterinary relationship. These students work under the guidance of licensed veterinarians and certified veterinary technicians. We hold clinics on the first Sunday of each month at The Bond Between Food Shelf.

Our organization gives vet students and pre-vet students an opportunity to apply the knowledge they learn in class and gain important skills that they will use in their future careers.

To get involved students need to sign up with vetouch@umn.edu and fill out provided liability forms. We accept pre-vet volunteers as well.

WAM Collective is the official student group of the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota. The Weisman Art Museum presents and interprets works of art and offers exhibitions that place art within relevant cultural, social and historical contexts. Several major exhibitions are offered each year, as well as organized letters, symposia, tours and special events focused upon educational themes. Today, education remains central to the museum’s mission to make the arts accessible to the University and public communities.

Within this context, WAM Collective operates as a community of practice - exploring, questioning, critiquing and probing the boundaries of what a university art museum can or should be. Topics covered include: socially engaged art, hyper-connectivity as disruption, the museum as commons, and new models for interpretation and audience engagement. WAM Collective members have the opportunity to work with professional museum staff, artists, advocates, and community members on projects that reflect the concerns, interests, and passions of the student perspective, providing opportunities to grow personally and professionally. WAM Collective members plan programs, engage in research and content creation, and have fun talking all things art!

The WAM Collective benefits the University of Minnesota community by fostering a sense of museum ownership, as well as facilitating direct participation in museum programs and events allowing students to engage with the arts on a personal level.

The WAM Collective offers opportunities for direct participation in museum programs and events. The Collective supports and promotes WAM's mission through a variety of social, educational and fundraising activities. Zoobiquity works to foster interprofessional communication, collaboration, and learning among students in different health professions about what is shared between human and animal medicine. Zoobiquity stimulates future health professionals to ask, “do animals get ___? Do people get ___?” and generates unique perspectives for any career in the healthcare community. All health science students are welcome.
