Fall is in full swing, and so is the QSCC! As we settle into the semester, our lounge has received some exciting upgrades, our leadership team has grown, and we’ve got a full lineup of events and community celebrations ahead. Lounge Upgrades
QSCC is excited to share some upgrades to our lounge! We’ve updated the room and refreshed the layout to make the space even more welcoming. Now enjoy free tea, hot chocolate, and coffee, a food shelf, and a donation shelf stocked with clothing, gender-affirming care products, and other essentials. We’ve also added free safer sex supplies and menstrual products for all community members. Stop by, relax, and make yourself at home. This is your space!

Liberating Abortion Interactive Lecture
Liberating Abortion is an award winning book highlighting the galvanizing history of abortion, recentering people of color, and uplifting the timely argument that we must liberate abortion for all. Join co-author and abortion storyteller, Renee Bracey Sherman, and special guest reproductive justice activist, Jasmine Burnett, for a engaging presentation reframing the conversation of abortion rooted in Black feminist and Queer theory, participants will have their perspectives of abortion changed forever.
This program is a collaboration between the Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health, the Women's Center, and the Gender & Sexuality Center for Queer & Trans Life. This program is free and open to all. For accommodation needs please email gsc@umn.edu

Family Tree Clinic Spooktacular Support
Join Family Tree Clinic on Monday, October 27 for a spooktacular evening filled with fun, community, and valuable resources! This free event is open to all and features activities, refreshments, and holistic health resources for the whole family.
This is more than just a Halloween celebration—it’s an opportunity to connect with local health services and community support while having a blast. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

Applications are currently open for the Volunteer Program at Aurora.
More Infomation on The Aurora Center:
The Aurora Center is an advocacy office on campus that serves victim survivors of sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. The Aurora Center also offers volunteer opportunities at the University of Minnesota for full-time students, staff, or faculty that are focused on providing support to survivors and educating the campus. All positions are designed to foster leadership and professional skill development for volunteers.
Applications:
Applicants can either apply to be a Direct Service Advocate and help run our 24-hour helpline and support folks directly, or they can apply to be a Violence Prevention Educator and facilitate workshops on campus about consent, bystander intervention, toxic masculinity, supporting survivors and more. Applications are open from now until Monday, November 3rd. It is recommended that applicants apply early as volunteers will be accepted on a rolling basis.
