About Us
Welcome to Books & Beyond! We’re always down to talk about books, and that’s a big part of our club, but we do so much more too. Every month we hold two meetings: one to discuss a book together and one to do a fun activity. We pick from different genres, authors, and styles, so that everyone has the chance to find something for them—whether it be a long-time favorite or a pleasant new discovery. If books aren't really your thing, you might enjoy our second type of monthly meeting, where we meet up to watch a movie, play a game, or just hang out together. More than just a place for dispassionate analysis, we aim to create a caring community. We also seek to engage with the wider community of Minneapolis, helping to support an exploration of literature and a love of reading however we can. by holding volunteering events in the cities. All meetings are voluntary; we really just want everyone to have a good time! We know the school year can get super busy, so even if you don’t have time to read the book of the month, or you only read part of it, you are welcome at all meetings. If you don’t want to talk, that’s okay too. This is meant to be fun, so feel free to participate in the club however would be best for you.
