About Us
Children’s Dental Health Advocates (CDHA) is a student-led organization at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities dedicated to promoting oral health education and improving access to dental supplies for low-income, underserved communities in the Twin Cities. Founded in January 2024, CDHA focuses on educating underserved elementary students about the importance of oral hygiene from an early age. Our three core values are: Leadership, passion, and empathy.
Through interactive activities, our members deliver fun, age-appropriate education on brushing, flossing, and cavity-preventive nutrition. Our 30-minute interactive activity sessions are designed to be both informative and memorable, helping children build confidence in caring for their oral health while creating fun, lasting memories with our volunteers. We pride ourselves on fostering an environment where our members feel seen and valued for their unique perspectives, passions, and commitment to serving their community.
As of May 2026, CDHA has served over 3,130+ students across 19 different elementary schools in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, donating 2,480 goodie bags containing essential dental supplies to help maintain a healthy smile.
