About Us

The Black Graduate Collective (BGC) was established to combat isolation and engage and support graduate and professional students of African descent. BGC works at a unique interface to bring professional and graduate students together through social networking events, community service, professional development workshops, and educational forums. BGC hopes these programs and opportunities create a space for students to express their stresses and accomplishments, engage in the community through service, and develop a strong network for professional support in their future careers. While focused on Black graduate and professional students across all programs and backgrounds, BGC welcomes all students dedicated to its vision and goals. Furthermore the members of BGC, with unique emphasis on the community and service, are driven to a close and collaborative relationship with numerous organizations within the University and our local community.
