Our Mission for this club is to create a welcoming space where students can step away from their daily workloads, try new things, and genuinely relax. We aim to build a community where people can connect with Somali culture through food, conversations, shared experiences and activities such as fundraisers, cultural games and Ramadan events. By encouraging members to learn from one another and participate in cultural events, we hope to create an atmosphere that is both educational and deeply bonding.

The Aging Studies Interdisciplinary Group (ASIG) is a collaborative organization for graduate, professional, and undergraduate students studying aging in programs across the University. ASIG is student led and promotes the development of critical engagement across disciplines and explores diverse approaches to knowledge and inquiry related to aging education and research.

Together we:

Encourage thoughtful discussions about approaching issues around aging,
Explore different theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, and changing conceptualizations of knowledge in aging,
Provide concrete opportunities for students to hone professional skills,
Focus on theoretical and pragmatic aspects of gerontology, and
Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration

We are the Pre-Med American Medical Student Association (AMSA) at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Our mission is to foster an inclusive environment for all members of our club while allowing them to take initiative through community work, create new friendships and professional relationships, as well as advocate for health globally. Most of our members are pre-professional medical students, but many members of our club are seeking a variety of health-related careers. We advocate strongly for serving our community through an assortment of volunteer and community outreach events. Our group's passion is to aid students in finding their path to medical school by giving them the resources necessary to exceed their potential. A few of the immersive pre-health experiences we give our members are: numerous events and Q&A’s with physicians and other health care professionals, events with discussions about current hot-topics in medicine, a pre-med dinner to network with physicians, fairs to speak with medical school admission boards, medical student panels, suture clinics, volunteer opportunities, and so much more.

U-Tango is a registered student group that promotes Argentine culture and dance.

The club was founded in the summer of 2004 and since then we have held weekly meetings, sponsored guest instructors from Minneapolis and beyond, and hosted social dance events.

We are currently holding our workshops on Thursdays, in Recwell MP 7 (4th floor)

Beginners with Brushes’ mission is to provide a relaxing and comfortable environment for all members to practice creativity through painting and socializing safely.

Once a week we will be holding an in-person painting club. Paint and supplies will be distributed and provided at each meeting. During our time together, members can socialize and paint/ stimulate their brains through their desired creative activities.

Our community values are focused on mental health and wellness. We support mental health by strongly encouraging creativity and community. The goal of this art club is for students of all majors and abilities to come together and support each other in being creative. Many of our leaders and members are coming from STEM majors and do not have many opportunities to express creativity in an accepting space. We create a strong community by encouraging all artists and focusing on the creative process and not the outcome. We create a fun and positive environment by playing music, not setting expectations, allowing room for error and growth, and making it a priority to socialize and relax.

We are the weightlifting and wellness social club at the University of Minnesota that welcomes athletes from every point in their fitness journey. We focus on creating a community within campus and supporting our athletes in their goals. Our officers host weekly meetings to make weightlifting comfortable and easier in a group setting. All people interested in weightlifting will find plenty of enjoyment and utility in our meetings. Alongside various events, we strive for strong relationships, and creating social networks is what we preach as essential to success.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an extremely effective martial art style in which technique and skill can allow smaller opponents to defeat larger, stronger opponents.
Our club is committed to offering basic level instruction in a safe and controlled training environment for anyone who is interested in learning.

UMN BJJ hosts training sessions on weeknights in addition to periodic seminars with experts from the Twin Cities community. In addition to fundamental training, our curriculum includes self-defense, competition prep, and fitness improvement.

The Bunny Besties’ RELAX program will provide a supportive community on the University of Minnesota campus for students interested in animal assisted interactions by giving them access to trained therapy ambassador rabbit care and workshops setting them up for success in their future careers while giving them a space to relieve stress with trained ambassador rabbits from our partners at Bunny Besties non profit.

We have weekly workouts every Monday around 6PM, where we work with different studios to try different workouts so members can find their fit. We also have socials once to twice a month where our members have the opportunity to connect with each other outside from working out. This can be watching a movie, craft night, studying, cooking/baking together, tie dying, + more!

Members also have the opportunity to be in a small group which meets weekly + they choose based off their schedule ++ availability. This is a group of 4-9 members that has a small group coordinator to lead each session! This allows for a more intimate sense of community where you workout, go get coffee, or have a movie night together!
