Mission
Hello and welcome to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Actuary Club! We are a diverse organization with a membership base primarily comprised of actuarial students and recent graduates; however, we welcome people of any major, college, or university in the area. Our club’s mission is to help shape a foundation for success for our students.

We host meetings and information sessions throughout the year with thought leaders in the industry. We plan them carefully with the hope that they will provide great learning and networking opportunities for our members. In addition, we sponsor an internship and career fair every fall where actuarial students across the state gather to meet and network with companies and their representatives. This year, we will hold career workshops to help members develop their professional skills. Topics will include resume and cover letter writing, effective networking techniques, and interview preparation.

Please feel free to email us if you are a student looking to become a member or a company looking to become involved, we would love to have you! You can learn more about the Actuary Club during our meetings. Meetings are on Thursdays from 5:30-7 PM, and we always have free food! The locations will be posted and emailed to members. During the spring semester, meetings are not held every week.

Mission
The Arts and Medicine group is a place for medical students and other health professionals to engage with and learn about written, 2D, and performance media from/with their classmates in medicine, and from professionals who have found means of bringing their art into the medical sphere. The group is a collection of medical students from both Twin Cities and Duluth campuses who are interested in elevating the arts and humanities within medicine. We have several committees, with focuses on Music, Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Writing.

This student group is open to anyone regardless of major or writing experience. Our goal is to create a community of writers and a space where members can receive frequent feedback on their pieces, whether they write poetry, short stories, novels, essays, screenplays, music or anything else. We provide a Google Drive system for sharing works, facilitate a group dedicated to longer writing projects, and host open mic events, all alongside our regular meetings.

We aim to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their works, can learn and talk about writing, and most importantly, can have fun!

Fellowship of Undergraduate Students in English (FUSE) is a student-run club for undergraduate students in any major. Our mission is to enrich the educational experience of all undergraduates, with an emphasis on English students, and create and foster a sense of community among our members. We're working hard to revitalize and rejuvenate FUSE, so we're excited you're here! This semester, we will continue hosting writing workshops, book swaps, movie viewings, game nights, weekly book clubs, special holiday events, book drives, hangout and study sessions, speaker events, and more! Mission
Gopher Good is a student organization at the University of Minnesota that is aimed at offering volunteer opportunities to students. We meet bi-weekly on Sundays for community service outings, and on the off weeks we gather on Tuesdays for in-house events such as making tie blankets, writing Letters of Love, etc. We prioritize humanitarian efforts within our community, focusing on initiatives that support those in need and promote unity and understanding across all groups. Through hands-on projects and partnerships with local organizations, Gopher Good is committed to doing good and empowering students to give back through acts of service.

The Humphrey Public Affairs Review (HPAR) is a
student-edited publication that promotes the
service-driven legacy of its namesake, Hubert H.
Humphrey. It features and disseminates quality student
work in the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. HPAR
allows students to build academic and professional
skills while writing and editing work dealing with
contemporary public issues. HPAR facilitates
collaboration across Humphrey degree programs and
builds connections between Humphrey students and
the broader Humphrey community, including staff,
faculty, and alumni.

Mission
The mission of Operation Smile at the University of Minnesota is to support global efforts to provide life-changing cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries to children in under-resourced regions lacking access to safe and affordable surgical care. As a chapter of the international nonprofit Operation Smile—an organization delivering medical care and education in more than 40 countries—we contribute to closing the global healthcare gap through fundraising, education, and advocacy. By hosting a chapter at UMN, our student body is better equipped to make a meaningful impact through volunteering, fundraising, and awareness efforts. Our chapter at UMN strives to empower students to take action, build community, and raise support. At UMN, we organize numerous events such as kickball tournaments, bingo nights, tie blanket making, and card writing for surgery recipients, fostering a light-hearted, inclusive environment where all are welcome. We collaborate with other campus groups that share interests in healthcare, medical relief, and philanthropy, offering opportunities for students to gain insights into global surgical disparities and oral health. We are a group of funny people who put together a magazine twice a semester. Then we print it out and have a party.

We have writers, illustrators, and editors of all talent levels. If you are interested in writing something funny you should join us.

READ@UMN is a club aiming to promote reading habit, helping people with disabilities, enjoying literature, and venting academic stress. The core activities include audiobook recording, which will be done online, at our website recording.readaudiobooks.org, and volunteer recruiting. We will also organize offline events, including themed literature discussion (book seminars), role-playing recording with multiple recorders, and other fun activities. We will also hold reading sessions, through short stories and discussions, participants can adjust their emotions, feeling connected, and become more comfortable mentally. Group members can gain literary experiences, improve their writing and speaking, release their academic stress, and even get familiar with tech skills by helping with the website or processing the audios. In addition, members will enjoy opportunities of volunteering and formal socialization, as we will connect and cooperate with multiple institutes to distribute our audio works. In general, we believe that the power of reading is bilateral. We connect with people, contribute to social equity, and get relieved and become appreciative ourselves.

We will publish one eight-essay law review every semester through student submissions, as well as regular online blog posts by our staff writers. We hope to give students experience with legal writing and analysis, and promote networking opportunities within the pre-law body at the University of Minnesota.

This student group is open to anyone regardless of major or experience with poetry/public performance. Our goal is to create a community of collaborative writers and a space where members can present their work to a live audience and judges.

We provide a Discord server for sharing works, open mic events, a competitive slam once a month, and regular meetings as a space for writing exploration and learning. Our purpose as a club is to be a safe space to engage, learn, and have fun!
