AddMig aims to foster interest in addiction medicine amongst medical students, support community access to addiction medicine resources, and advocate for improved care for those affected by addiction. To this end, we hold school-wide events that provide information about addiction medicine, highlight the work of addiction medicine scholars and clinicians, and provide resources for students and community members interested in learning more.

The Aging Studies Interdisciplinary Group (ASIG) is a collaborative organization for graduate, professional, and undergraduate students studying aging in programs across the University. ASIG is student led and promotes the development of critical engagement across disciplines and explores diverse approaches to knowledge and inquiry related to aging education and research.

Together we:

Encourage thoughtful discussions about approaching issues around aging,
Explore different theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, and changing conceptualizations of knowledge in aging,
Provide concrete opportunities for students to hone professional skills,
Focus on theoretical and pragmatic aspects of gerontology, and
Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration

Our mission is to create a community within the Chemical Engineering field here at the University of Minnesota. American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is an international organization that promotes the art, science & practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe. The goal of the ASME Student Section at the UMN is to promote these same values as well as to provide a community for engineering students at the University of Minnesota.

ASME hosts social and professional development events throughout the year, which are open to all engineering students at the UMN. The student section also holds general meetings, section design competitions, volunteer opportunities, and more!

The Astronomy Club strives to build a community of students with an interest in astronomy and to promote awareness of astronomical events. In practice, members gather for game nights, astronomy trivia, professor talks, space presentations, stargazing nights, and outreach events. For astro majors, it is a great way to meet other astro majors, and for other majors, it's a great way to get your astronomy fix! The Asylum Law Project exists to provide a meaningful public interest opportunity for law students to provide pro bono legal assistance to organizations that work in the field of Asylum and/or Immigration Law. The Asylum Law Project fills a substantial need for legal assistance to immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers who seldom have access to competent legal representation. The Asylum Law Project allows first-year law students to gain experience in various aspects of the field of Immigration/Asylum Law. The Asylum Law Project strives to increase awareness regarding the struggles faced by immigrants and asylum seekers to both the UMN Law Student community, and the broader Minnesota community. The Asylum Law Project will endeavor to strengthen and support UMN Law Students in their journeys to become effective legal advocates.

ALP is an organization maintained by first-year law students in order to serve first-year law students and L.L.M. students at the University of Minnesota. After joining ALP, students share their trip placement interest and language skills with the ALP board. The board then matches those criteria with the needs of participating organizations. Participants volunteer on week-long service trips over the Winter or Spring Breaks.

The Black Graduate Collective (BGC) was established to combat isolation and engage and support graduate and professional students of African descent.
