HaLLA exists to contribute to the University’s diverse community through the promotion of Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian languages and cultures and to make available a forum for the presentation of graduate student work within the Department of Spanish & Portuguese.
During our monthly HaLLA meetings, the Hispanic Linguistics students and faculty present their current work, completed or in progress, often in preparation for a conference or to gain feedback on a research project or idea. These meetings provide the presenters with a friendly and encouraging environment in which to problematize aspects of their research and to discuss the future directions and implications of their work with their peers.

The Inclusive Language Instruction Research Group exists to contribute to the diverse community at the University of Minnesota through the promotion of inclusivity in language classrooms and to understand how languages are changing to express the identities of the speakers as well as their needs of meaning-making.
We promote communication and collaboration among instructors in an effort to:
- create a safe learning environment for all students;
- share pedagogical resources; and
- reflect on our own biases and address them.
We also engage with the public through our social media platforms to share relevant information about inclusive language education with both teachers and students.

International Students in SPH have classes in East Bank while the ISSS office in the West Bank and it might be hard to get connected. I found that graduate/ professional integrational students do not have that community since the University of Minnesota is so big. Plumb Bob is an honorary leadership society that has been at UMN since 1914. Our main objective is to plan, organize, and run each spring's CSE Week. During this time, there are many CSE celebratory events and other student group participants that Plumb Bob oversees. Moreover, Plumb Bob also hosts an event in the fall to promote student interaction with the many aspects of CSE and college academics. We meet weekly during the fall semester and weekly during the spring semester. Plumb Bob welcomes recruits and new members all year-long.

The Public Health Review is a graduate student-led, online, peer-reviewed, open-access public health journal that is published by the University of Minnesota Libraries. We publish two issues per year: in June and December. We provide students, alumni, and professionals from any discipline or affiliation the opportunity to publish public health-related material in a peer-reviewed journal. The affiliation with the University of Minnesota Libraries publishing arm allows articles submitted through this platform to be indexed and cited by other scholarly work.

The Public Health Review also has a podcast called Perspectives. Here, we bring to you a series of conversations on a wide variety of public health topics, providing you with perspectives on public health issues from the community, academic, and professional fields.

Our vision is to make health equity possible for everyone in every community.

Students in the University of Minnesota dance program created a student group called, Dance Production. The goal is to plan, create, and facilitate a one-day show that displays the many avenues of art that is present both on campus and in the twin cities. This spring semester, Dance Production is facilitating a multidisciplinary arts festival, which has been titled, Make: Magnify. This festival, scheduled for April 13, 2024, includes both student and community artists. These artists can be dancers, musicians, sculptors, painters, lighting designers, collagists, etc. For the festival, Dance Production is also planning on working with ASL interpreters, stage managers, and lighting designers to not only create a successful arts festival but to allow students the chances of gaining experience in working behind the scenes of an arts show as well.
