The ADEA Chapter for Students, Residents and Fellows at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is free to join for all students in the DH, DT, and DDS programs, as well as residents and fellows in the field of dentistry. Events are open to all students, residents, and fellows. Membership provides access to leadership roles and planning for events such as sticker and succulent sales, lunch and learns, and faculty panels. Additionally, members are able to attend the ADEA Annual Conference in the spring, which is a national event.

The Aging Studies Interdisciplinary Group (ASIG) is a collaborative organization for graduate, professional, and undergraduate students studying aging in programs across the University. ASIG is student led and promotes the development of critical engagement across disciplines and explores diverse approaches to knowledge and inquiry related to aging education and research.

American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is an international organization that promotes the art, science & practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe. The Asylum Law Project exists to provide a meaningful public interest opportunity for law students to provide pro bono legal assistance to organizations that work in the field of Asylum and/or Immigration Law. The Asylum Law Project fills a substantial need for legal assistance to immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers who seldom have access to competent legal representation. The Asylum Law Project allows first-year law students to gain experience in various aspects of the field of Immigration/Asylum Law. The Asylum Law Project strives to increase awareness regarding the struggles faced by immigrants and asylum seekers to both the UMN Law Student community, and the broader Minnesota community. The Asylum Law Project will endeavor to strengthen and support UMN Law Students in their journeys to become effective legal advocates.

ALP is an organization maintained by first-year law students in order to serve first-year law students and L.L.M. students at the University of Minnesota. After joining ALP, students share their trip placement interest and language skills with the ALP board. The board then matches those criteria with the needs of participating organizations. Participants volunteer on week-long service trips over the Winter or Spring Breaks.

CLARION (CLinician Administrator Relationship Improvement OrganizatioN) is a student-driven, staff/faculty-advised committee housed within the Center for Health Interprofessional Programs (CHIP). CLARION creates and conducts co-curricular, interprofessional experiences for health professional students based upon the Institute of Medicine’s report “Six Aims for a New Healthcare System.”

CLARION focuses on the professional development of health professional students and includes lessons in leadership, teamwork, communication, analytical reasoning, conflict-resolution, and business practices. Participation in CLARION leads students to a more sophisticated understanding of the healthcare system in which they will practice.

The organizational structure of the CLARION student board models the type of interprofessional equality and collaborative leadership which will be needed to effectively solve the current healthcare system challenges. The interactions which occur among students lead to critical learnings; the most prominent being that many fundamental biases about other professions are firmly rooted before students enter the health professions workplace. Hence, the primary goals of the organization are for participants to develop an understanding and appreciation of the skills that each profession brings to the healthcare team and to develop positive relationships which will extend into their professional careers.

The Community Engagement Scholars Program (CESP) is a program for students who want to make a commitment to community engagement during their undergraduate experience. Students complete 400 hours of community engagement work, participate in reflective workshops and assignments, and complete a 1 credit senior capstone project. Because of the rigorous nature of the program, students are also recognized by the Board of Regents with a notation on their official transcript and a medal of distinction. The program is open to all undergraduate students in every major and college. The Community Engagement Scholars Program Leaders Board works to build community within the program by planning social events, hosting student-led conferences, leading workshops, and encouraging UMN students to join CESP.

The Commuter Connection aims to foster a relationship between commuter students and the University of Minnesota campus community. Our purpose is to simply provide a welcoming space, both physical and digital, for commuter students to interact with one another and gain access to campus resources.

Our space in the Memorial Union, Room 204, is open to all students but is specifically targeted towards the needs and interests of commuter students. Our room provides storage space, free printing, microwave, fridge, utensils, and leisure space that fit the needs of many students who commute to campus. In addition to these resources, our room is also a space where commuter students can meet, get to know one another, and build a sense of community. Finding opportunities to connect with other students outside of the classroom is essential in the commuter student experience. We host events such as Scary-Oke, Pal-entine's Day, game nights, Muffin Mondays, and more to encourage students to create long lasting relationships that will follow them through their time as a student at the U of M. We are also open to collaborations with other student groups, including the wonderful cultural centers that we share space with at the Memorial Union. Some of our other programming includes our Discord server, and other virtual forms of programming and communication.

The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) honors senior medical students who "demonstrate excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service." The Society was founded to elevate the values of humanism and professionalism within the field of medicine and its constituent institutions. The Society is fast becoming integrated into our educational environment. Students are admitted into GHHS based on responses to a peer nomination survey toward the end of their third year of medical school. The final membership list is confirmed by a faculty and administration selection committee that also ensures adequate representation from all medical school programs, including those on the Duluth campus for years 1 and 2. GHHS arranges many humanistic events during their year of service including a retreat held annually the day before Match Day for all MS4s.

The Liquid Propellant Rocketry Development team, or LPRD, is a group which exists to delve into advanced technologies and techniques in rocketry technology. We give members a chance to work on propulsion and flight technologies that would be otherwise inaccessible to individuals. Gaining experience with these technologies is a rare part of a well-rounded young engineers' skillset that will stand out to employers, especially in the launch sector and the space industry more broadly.

The goals of LPRD are straightforward to state, but ambitious: to first develop reliable and powerful liquid propellant engines and test them with the utmost safety. As we continue to delve into more advanced engines, each building on the experience we gain with the last, our primary end goal is to build an engine capable of powering a flight vehicle.

We believe that every member should be able to get fully involved and get real, valuable hands-on experience as well as gaining a holistic understanding of the workings of the engines we design, build and test.

The mission of the Minnesota Undergraduate Research & Academic Journal (MURAJ) is to engage undergraduate students across the University of Minnesota in the collaborative and educational process of assembling an academic journal that celebrates the breadth and depth of innovative thinking among undergraduate students. MURAJ showcases undergraduate research through a publication process that engages students throughout, with students contributing as authors, reviewers, and editors for the journal. Each manuscript published in MURAJ should embody three principles:
Academic rigor: The manuscript represents serious and involved academic or creative study, recognizing that research can take many different forms across disciplines;
Professionalism: The manuscript meets the appropriate aesthetic, formatting, and presentation standards expected for a publication in the given field of study;
Intellectual merit: The manuscript proposes an advancement to current knowledge, and contains important and well-supported arguments to benefit their specific academic field.

MURAJ seeks to provide an enriching educational experience to students involved in all aspects of the journal. Furthermore, MURAJ will actively work to maintain open accessibility to all students at the University of Minnesota by providing the journal in a free, accessible, and online format and promoting it to all students on campus. Founded in 1969, the Minnesota Urban Studies Student Association (MUSSA) is a Campus Life Program centered around strengthening the academic, professional, and social networks for University of Minnesota - Twin Cities students who share interests in the historical, current, and future development of urban spaces. Although we branch directly from the Urban Studies major and minor programs within the College of Liberal Arts, we welcome students to join our interdisciplinary community for any of our events.

The Phillips Neighborhood Clinic is an interprofessional student-run free clinic located in the Phillips Neighborhood that provides healthcare services to men, women and children of all ages. Our mission is 3-fold:

I. We will increase accessibility of comprehensive, patient-centered, quality health services to patients with unmet needs.

II. We will develop compassionate, culturally sensitive future health professionals in an interprofessional, team-based learning environment.

III. We will support community partnerships and promote overall health and wellbeing in the communities we serve.

The Phillips Neighborhood Clinic is open to provide patient care every Monday and Thursday. On clinic nights, we see patients on a walk-in, first come first serve basis. Using an interprofessional care model, we provide patients with a variety of services including general health check ups/physical examinations, medication refills, physical therapy services, occupational therapy services, nutrition services and mental health/social work services. Additionally, we offer specialty nights including, Audiology, Women's Health, Foot Night, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and Pediatrics.

We offer students an opportunity to practice clinical skills and improve the health and wellbeing of residents of the Phillips Neighborhood and beyond.

The Phillips Neighborhood Clinic recruits new first year students from the Academic Health Center every September. Other interested parties should contact our organization for more information.

Psychology Club and Psi Chi's mission is to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology. Psychology Club also provides a place for people with similar interests to connect and learn more about the field of psychology. Psychology Club holds numerous events including special faculty presentations, professor coffee hours, graduate student panels, a graduate school admission presentation, and a gap year panel. You do not need to be pursuing a psychology degree to get involved in the club. The Psychiatry Student Interest Group Network (PsychSIGN) is a national network of medical students interested in psychiatry, from those with a rough interest in the brain and mind to those already in the residency application and match process. PsychSIGN is comprised of psychiatry interest groups at medical schools across the country. Member schools are divided into regions depending on the school’s location. Each school is headed by a Region Chair elected by PsychSIGN members at the national convention (UMN is in Region 4). Regions get together for the region conference annually and are kept up to date with National PsychSIGN and the APA through newsletters and monthly updates. Queer Science organizes multidisciplinary STEM outreach events for queer and trans high school students in the Twin Cities and surrounding regions, with an expansive definition of "STEM." We host free events where young people interact with and work alongside trans and queer STEM-ists to explore and expand their passion for science. We seek queer and trans volunteers from all STEM-related disciplines, whether in academia, industry, government, etc. Our events are as diverse as our attendees, all with the goal of supporting queer and trans youth interested in STEM, and we focus on experiences participants likely wouldn't have in their high school classrooms. Events include:
Queer Science Day each fall and spring
Guest workshops with local schools, the MN Science Museum, etc.
Hosting 'office hours' for homework and application help (and some life advice)

The Science and Engineering Student Board (SESB) is the official undergraduate governing body of the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering (CSE). The University Speech Team is a student-led, collegiate speech team that aims to hone public speaking and argumentation skills while having fun! The team travels across the country to compete in speech tournaments between September and April, including national tournaments like the National Forensic Association (NFA) and the American Forensic Association (AFA).

There are 11 different events students may participate in that span public address, limited preparation, and interpretation. Past speeches have included an informative speech about crafting as a form of activism, a humorous speech about how racial imposter syndrome disproportionately impacts multiracial people, and a dramatic interpretation of the ongoing gaslighting of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Most importantly, the team strives to support students' academic journeys, develop friendships with speakers nationwide, and uplift students to be authentic. Through speech, we hope students discover communications skills they can use to advocate for a more just world. Past speakers have pursued law degrees, PhDs in communication, careers in journalism, and many more professional endeavors!

The mission of Stone Arch Silicon is to lower the barrier between students and the semiconductor design ecosystem by providing hands-on experience in modern digital hardware development, from RTL design to fabricated silicon.

The organization aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical engineering by creating opportunities for students to learn, design, verify, prototype, and manufacture advanced hardware systems. Through technical education, collaborative projects, industry engagement, and access to semiconductor design workflows, the organization prepares students to contribute to the future of computing hardware.

Our mission is to train future veterinarians by serving communities in need. We provide veterinary services in the form of student-run clinics to underserved Reservation communities within Minnesota and neighboring states. At these clinics, we are able to enhance veterinary students’ and veterinary technicians’ leadership, clinical, and interpersonal skills. We provide monthly lectures on various topics relating to veterinary surgery. We also provide regular suture labs and additional hands-on experiences to help students improve their clinical skills.

We promote student participation and interest in veterinary emergency and critical care medicine. We provide opportunities for members to further their education on subjects relating to emergency medicine and provide opportunities for hands-on labs. We make information available about opportunities to work in the field of emergency and critical care in veterinary medicine. To join our group you must be a current UMN Veterinary Student. Please sign up at the Student Activities Fair or via email at sveccs@umn.edu. Annual dues are required to participate in hands on labs.

Tau Sigma is an academic honor society designed specifically to "recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students."

Our group host study events and social events throughout the semester for members to interact and help them build a community with other transfer students and Tau Sigma members. We host an annual induction ceremony for new members and host a dinner with an Office of Undergraduate Education administrator each semester.
Membership in Tau Sigma is available to students after they complete their 1st semester at the U of M. This is because membership is based upon students' 1st semester U of M GPA (3.5 or higher), completion of a full load of credits that semester on an A-F grading basis, and the number of credits transferred to the U of M. Students who are eligible for admission to Tau Sigma are automatically sent an invitation to join at that time.

Our group works to create a fun and positive environment for its members by hosting multiple events throughout the semester to help members foster a sense of community within the transfer students community and the university community as a whole. We also partner with the University Transfer Students Board to host some events and help expand the community within university transfer students.

We are a passionate group of individuals who advocate for the ethical use of AI, with the overarching goal of serving the common good of humanity. Mission
The University of Minnesota Rocket Team is committed to providing its members with hands-on engineering experience by designing, building, and launching high-powered rockets.

Our student-run organization competes in the Spaceport America Cup (SAC) competition annually. We also manage an R&D High Altitude project centered around surpassing our personal records with the eventual goal of reaching space.

Some of the team's most recent successes include winning the 30k Solid SRAD category at the Spaceport America Cup in 2023 and 2024, as well as the James Barrowman Award for Flight Dynamics in 2023 for being within 0.18% of our simulated altitude!

Other successes include winning the overall competition at SAC 2021, winning the 30k Solid SRAD category at SAC 2021 and 2019, and placing 1st overall at the Midwest Rocketry Competition 2019 and in the Alka Rocket Challenge in 2019. Our highest recorded altitude as a team is currently 44,910 ft, set by our High Altitude project at Spaceport America.

Since 2002, Theatre of the Relatively Talentless has entertained the Minnesota legal community. We stage musicals that are student-written, student-produced, student-directed and student-performed. We are a registered, non-profit, campus life student organization through the University of Minnesota. Our goal is to provide law students (and sometimes faculty) with a desperately-needed creative outlet.

TORT is open to all law students without regard to race, religion, creed, color, sex, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, political preference, bluebooking skill level, journal or moot court membership, current job offer, propensity to chase ambulances, originalist views, or ability to use the term “a fortiori” in a sentence.
