The Aging Studies Interdisciplinary Group (ASIG) is a collaborative organization for graduate, professional, and undergraduate students studying aging in programs across the University. ASIG is student led and promotes the development of critical engagement across disciplines and explores diverse approaches to knowledge and inquiry related to aging education and research.

Encourage thoughtful discussions about approaching issues around aging,

The Asylum Law Project exists to provide a meaningful public interest opportunity for law students to provide pro bono legal assistance to organizations that work in the field of Asylum and/or Immigration Law. The Asylum Law Project fills a substantial need for legal assistance to immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers who seldom have access to competent legal representation. The Asylum Law Project allows first-year law students to gain experience in various aspects of the field of Immigration/Asylum Law. The Asylum Law Project strives to increase awareness regarding the struggles faced by immigrants and asylum seekers to both the UMN Law Student community, and the broader Minnesota community. The Asylum Law Project will endeavor to strengthen and support UMN Law Students in their journeys to become effective legal advocates.

ALP is an organization maintained by first-year law students in order to serve first-year law students and L.L.M. students at the University of Minnesota. After joining ALP, students share their trip placement interest and language skills with the ALP board. The board then matches those criteria with the needs of participating organizations. Participants volunteer on week-long service trips over the Winter or Spring Breaks.

CLARION (CLinician Administrator Relationship Improvement OrganizatioN) is a student-driven, staff/faculty-advised committee housed within the Center for Health Interprofessional Programs (CHIP). CLARION creates and conducts co-curricular, interprofessional experiences for health professional students based upon the Institute of Medicine’s report “Six Aims for a New Healthcare System.”

CLARION focuses on the professional development of health professional students and includes lessons in leadership, teamwork, communication, analytical reasoning, conflict-resolution, and business practices. Participation in CLARION leads students to a more sophisticated understanding of the healthcare system in which they will practice.

The organizational structure of the CLARION student board models the type of interprofessional equality and collaborative leadership which will be needed to effectively solve the current healthcare system challenges. The interactions which occur among students lead to critical learnings; the most prominent being that many fundamental biases about other professions are firmly rooted before students enter the health professions workplace. Hence, the primary goals of the organization are for participants to develop an understanding and appreciation of the skills that each profession brings to the healthcare team and to develop positive relationships which will extend into their professional careers.

The Commuter Connection aims to foster a relationship between commuter students and the University of Minnesota campus community. Our purpose is to simply provide a welcoming space, both physical and digital, for commuter students to interact with one another and gain access to campus resources.

Our space in the Memorial Union, Room 204, is open to all students but is specifically targeted towards the needs and interests of commuter students. Our room provides storage space, free printing, microwave, fridge, utensils, and leisure space that fit the needs of many students who commute to campus. In addition to these resources, our room is also a space where commuter students can meet, get to know one another, and build a sense of community. Finding opportunities to connect with other students outside of the classroom is essential in the commuter student experience. We host events such as Scary-Oke, Pal-entine's Day, game nights, Muffin Mondays, and more to encourage students to create long lasting relationships that will follow them through their time as a student at the U of M. We are also open to collaborations with other student groups, including the wonderful cultural centers that we share space with at the Memorial Union. Some of our other programming includes our Discord server, and other virtual forms of programming and communication.

The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) honors senior medical students who "demonstrate excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service." The Society was founded to elevate the values of humanism and professionalism within the field of medicine and its constituent institutions. The Society is fast becoming integrated into our educational environment. Students are admitted into GHHS based on responses to a peer nomination survey toward the end of their third year of medical school. The final membership list is confirmed by a faculty and administration selection committee that also ensures adequate representation from all medical school programs, including those on the Duluth campus for years 1 and 2. GHHS arranges many humanistic events during their year of service including a retreat held annually the day before Match Day for all MS4s.

Each year, we design and build a vehicle to compete in the global Formula SAE Series. The competition goal is to design, manufacture, market, and race an open-wheel, open-cockpit, and single-seat vehicle designed for the weekend racer.

The Insect Club is a student-lead club providing arthropod lovers with community, experiences, and connections within the field of entomology. The Liquid Propellant Rocketry Development team, or LPRD, is a group which exists to delve into advanced technologies and techniques in rocketry technology. We give members a chance to work on propulsion and flight technologies that would be otherwise inaccessible to individuals. Gaining experience with these technologies is a rare part of a well-rounded young engineers' skillset that will stand out to employers, especially in the launch sector and the space industry more broadly.

The goals of LPRD are straightforward to state, but ambitious: to first develop reliable and powerful liquid propellant engines and test them with the utmost safety. As we continue to delve into more advanced engines, each building on the experience we gain with the last, our primary end goal is to build an engine capable of powering a flight vehicle.

We believe that every member should be able to get fully involved and get real, valuable hands-on experience as well as gaining a holistic understanding of the workings of the engines we design, build and test.

The Phillips Neighborhood Clinic is an interprofessional student-run free clinic located in the Phillips Neighborhood that provides healthcare services to men, women and children of all ages. Our mission is 3-fold:

I. We will increase accessibility of comprehensive, patient-centered, quality health services to patients with unmet needs.

II. We will develop compassionate, culturally sensitive future health professionals in an interprofessional, team-based learning environment.

III. We will support community partnerships and promote overall health and wellbeing in the communities we serve.

The Phillips Neighborhood Clinic is open to provide patient care every Monday and Thursday. On clinic nights, we see patients on a walk-in, first come first serve basis. Using an interprofessional care model, we provide patients with a variety of services including general health check ups/physical examinations, medication refills, physical therapy services, occupational therapy services, nutrition services and mental health/social work services. Additionally, we offer specialty nights including, Audiology, Women's Health, Foot Night, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and Pediatrics.

We offer students an opportunity to practice clinical skills and improve the health and wellbeing of residents of the Phillips Neighborhood and beyond.

The Phillips Neighborhood Clinic recruits new first year students from the Academic Health Center every September. Other interested parties should contact our organization for more information.

The University Speech Team is a student-led, collegiate speech team that aims to hone public speaking and argumentation skills while having fun! The team travels across the country to compete in speech tournaments between September and April, including national tournaments like the National Forensic Association (NFA) and the American Forensic Association (AFA).

There are 11 different events students may participate in that span public address, limited preparation, and interpretation. Past speeches have included an informative speech about crafting as a form of activism, a humorous speech about how racial imposter syndrome disproportionately impacts multiracial people, and a dramatic interpretation of the ongoing gaslighting of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Most importantly, the team strives to support students' academic journeys, develop friendships with speakers nationwide, and uplift students to be authentic. Through speech, we hope students discover communications skills they can use to advocate for a more just world. Past speakers have pursued law degrees, PhDs in communication, careers in journalism, and many more professional endeavors!

The University of Minnesota Rocket Team is committed to providing its members with hands-on engineering experience by designing, building, and launching high-powered rockets.

Our student-run organization competes in the Spaceport America Cup (SAC) competition annually. We also manage an R&D High Altitude project centered around surpassing our personal records with the eventual goal of reaching space.

Some of the team's most recent successes include winning the 30k Solid SRAD category at the Spaceport America Cup in 2023 and 2024, as well as the James Barrowman Award for Flight Dynamics in 2023 for being within 0.18% of our simulated altitude!

Other successes include winning the overall competition at SAC 2021, winning the 30k Solid SRAD category at SAC 2021 and 2019, and placing 1st overall at the Midwest Rocketry Competition 2019 and in the Alka Rocket Challenge in 2019. Our highest recorded altitude as a team is currently 44,910 ft, set by our High Altitude project at Spaceport America.

About: Undergraduate Physiology Society [UPS] (not to be confused with the United Parcel Service) is a group of University of Minnesota undergraduate students who are passionate about physiology and the human body. Founded in 2009, UPS is student-governed, and affiliated with the department of Integrative Biology and Physiology, with Dr. Vincent Barnett as our advisor. Although many members are physiology majors, this is not a requirement for membership, and we encourage non-majors to attend our meetings and events. UPS serves to build a community between undergraduate physiology majors, as well as any students interested in the field of human physiology. UPS has social and educational events several times per month, along with service projects to build the growing community of undergraduate students interested in physiology. Additionally, we host our own collegiate conference each spring MinneMUN. Members can either attend the conference or work on staff as committee chairs, simulations coordinators, and more.

In addition to the competitive side of our club, we strive to educate students across campus on international issues and engage in advocacy work. Events such as our annual United Nations Day and our Human Rights Gala gatherings work to teach students the benefits of diplomacy and multilateralism while raising awareness on human rights work. Additionally, our members volunteer with our parent organization, the United Nations Association, working to educate students of all ages on international affairs. We work to promote knowledge and greater interest in the science, design, development, language, management, and applications of modern computing on the Twin Cities campus and around the Twin Cities area.

Welcome to the page for the University of Minnesota Fencing Club!

Whether you've been fencing for a long time, or have never tried it before, we encourage all students with an interest in fencing to join our club.

We practice with drills and bouting, and fence against other schools in the Midwestern Fencing Conference at competitions throughout the year (including University of Wisconsin, University of Iowa, Northwestern University, and Lawrence University), and host several individual tournaments at the University Recreation and Wellness Center per year.

Our current practice schedule is Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm-9pm, Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm, and Saturdays from 1pm-3pm in Cooke 308 (enter through the RecWell main entrance). If you have even a slight interest in fencing, we hope to see you there!

Hello! We are the University of Minnesota Geological Society-- otherwise known as the "GeoClub". We are a student group that supports and advocates for students in the department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, although anyone with an interest in these subjects is welcome! The GeoClub lounge can be found in the basement atrium of Tate Hall, room B85-- it's a great place to meet ESCI undergrads and other rock nerds. Overall, we host a number of events throughout the school year, ranging from very casual and informal social hours to inviting industry professionals and preparing professional development workshops. Past activities have included:

Minnesota Men’s Crew is a nationally competitive rowing team open to all students. Most of our team members began with no rowing experience before stepping foot in the boathouse, so we welcome anyone looking to learn something new, work hard in a fun team atmosphere, and reach a level of rowing that challenges even some of the D1 collegiate rowing programs across the country! With a supportive, competitive, and motivating environment, our club strives to help members grow as athletes and individuals.

During the school year, our team practices on the Mississippi River in the late afternoon Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings. During the winter months, we continue to practice by utilizing equipment at the Irene Claudia Kroll Boathouse. During the fall and spring semesters, we compete against other collegiate programs at home and away regattas on some weekends. This includes the ACRA National Championship Regatta where we face some of the top club rowing programs in the country to wrap up our spring season!

Our team is a member of GymACT, a national association of competitive club gymnastics teams, which hosts a national championship at the end of the season. -We are a competitive sports club, so we are always training for upcoming competitions against other colleges’ teams. We compete in both 15s and 7s rugby against schools such as Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas, among others. We also compete in national tournaments in both the fall and spring.

Our mission is to sponsor and organize Ultimate at all levels of competition for all interested members of the University of Minnesota community, and to provide quality fun and competitive opportunities for new and experienced players. This includes a range of activities from non-competitive pickup games to highly competitive intercollegiate and club tournament play.
We have three teams as part of our club, with various levels of commitment and competitiveness. Because of this, we cut nobody from our program. There is a spot for everyone on one of our three teams. Our A team competes at a national level, travelling to play teams from across the country. Our B and C teams are quality developmental teams that compete and travel on a regional level.

This will be done by hosting recreational events for students and staff and providing research and volunteer opportunities for students within Neuroscience. Students will be able to interconnect with each other and with the Neuroscience faculty to create a stronger connection and a sense of belonging.

The team exists to promote trivia-based academic competitions and related pop-culture-based activities among students at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. The team does so by organizing and sending teams to a wide range of regional and national intercollegiate tournaments and by hosting intercollegiate, intramural, and high school tournaments in Minneapolis. The team aims to include as many students as possible in its activities while at the same time maintaining its high competitive position on the national academic competition circuit.

We will be hosting quizbowl practices in person, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 in Ford Hall 110. University of Minnesota Robotics is a student organization at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. We have three major goals: to design and build robots, to support the FIRST Robotics program in the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas, and to host outreach events to raise awareness of robotics and STEM education.

Currently, our teams compete in the NASA Lunabotics and RoboMaster competitions. Additionally, we participate in non-competitive robot builds, including Robot in 3 Days (RI3D).

Outside of competition, we mentor local robotics teams, volunteer at regional events, and facilitate workshops for K-12 students in Minnesota.

The Solar Vehicle Project is a team of undergrads from many disciplines who accept the challenge to design, build, race, finance and market a solar-powered. The team races in biennial, cross country, intercollegiate competitions, representing the U of M. Since 1991, the UMNSVP has built fifteen vehicles to race cross country events in the USA, along with closed-course events, and international events in Japan, Australia, and Taiwan. The team has finished either first or second in over half of these events. The team won the 2022 American Solar Challenge, a 1,400 mile race across the US, and placed second in the 2023 Bridgestone World Challenge in Australia. Together, these achievements earned the team the Eberle-Selwood Championship Arrow Cup, recognizing it as the most consistently high performing team in the world. Now, the team is competing in the 2024 American Solar Challenge and starting work on their 16th car.

The Tae Kwon Do Club is a small but dedicated club that provides a space to learn and practice Tae Kwon Do. Additionally, we also teach self-defense, tricking, grappling, and general conditioning. Anyone can join any practice at any date, as long as they show up ready for exercise!

Tae Kwon Do is an excellent workout and helps develop both strength and flexibility. We also have an amazing community of members with shared interests, but greatly diverse experiences and backgrounds, inside and outside of Tae Kwon Do.

The University of Minnesota Undergraduate Mock Trial Association is a student organization that competes in intercollegiate mock trial competitions. Each year, students receive a packet of case materials from the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) and prepare a presentation of both sides of the issue. Students then travel around the state, region, and country competing against other colleges in tournaments. The activity is an excellent avenue to develop public speaking, critical thinking, trial advocacy, and teamwork skills.

Our overall purpose is to provide an avenue for students from diverse disciplines and fields of study to interact, exchange ideas, and gain a better understanding of the legal profession. It is also to participate competitively in the activities of AMTA including Invitational, Regional, and National Tournaments.

Each trial consists of a prosecution or plaintiff team from one college and a defense team from another. Teams form a case theory and select witnesses from a pool, weighing the value of the testimony from each option to structure the narrative of their case. Teams present opening and closing statements, their own witnesses, as well as cross-examine the opposing side's witnesses. Some students perform as attorneys and are scored on their ability to make arguments, question witnesses, and respond to changing circumstances in the trial. Other students are scored as witnesses and are responsible for bringing one of the witnesses from the case to life.

The goal of this club is to allow students to play competitive volleyball at the collegiate level. We provide the opportunity to continue one's competitive volleyball career without having to commit to a varsity collegiate program. This club is not the same as intramural volleyball as it requires a more experienced level of play.

Members of this club can expect to participate in practices twice a week and compete in 3 to 4 tournaments a semester. The teams will travel to the NCVF National Tournament at the conclusion of the spring season.

Prospective players are required to tryout for a team. Tryouts are held in September for the fall season and again in January for the spring season.

Our club is a competitive women's rugby team. We welcome everyone, regardless of prior experience or skill level. We strive to provide a holistic, team-oriented experience on and off the field. We work to develop the skills of the individual athlete while also playing with a strong team mindset at a highly competitive level. We create an environment for all our players past, present, and future to grow both as athletes, and as empowered young women.
During a normal season we practice up to three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Saturdays, we travel to and play against other universities in our division. Travel to and from games is provided for all players, and practices are held on campus and easily accessible by university buses.


Minnesota has a very strong rugby community and our team is lucky to be a part of it. We actively work to engage with our alumni to provide current players with meaningful connections and opportunities within the community and beyond the team. We also work to provide a positive and fun environment for all club members.
