The ADEA Chapter for Students, Residents and Fellows at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is free to join for all students in the DH, DT, and DDS programs, as well as residents and fellows in the field of dentistry. Events are open to all students, residents, and fellows. Membership provides access to leadership roles and planning for events such as sticker and succulent sales, lunch and learns, and faculty panels. Additionally, members are able to attend the ADEA Annual Conference in the spring, which is a national event.

The mission of the African Student Association (ASA) at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities is to create a forum where Africans and non-Africans can come together and openly discuss issues concerning Africa and Africans while educating the University and the community at large about Africa and her many rich cultures. And to also provide educational, social, political, and cultural activities and events for the University of Minnesota students. The African Student Association also strives to be involved in volunteerism and activism that aligns with the principles our foundation was built on.

The Aging Studies Interdisciplinary Group (ASIG) is a collaborative organization for graduate, professional, and undergraduate students studying aging in programs across the University. ASIG is student led and promotes the development of critical engagement across disciplines and explores diverse approaches to knowledge and inquiry related to aging education and research.

Together we:

Encourage thoughtful discussions about approaching issues around aging,
Explore different theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, and changing conceptualizations of knowledge in aging,
Provide concrete opportunities for students to hone professional skills,
Focus on theoretical and pragmatic aspects of gerontology, and
Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration

Chapter Mission Statement:
Alpha Phi is a membership organization dedicated to promoting sisterhood, cultivating leadership, encouraging intellectual curiosity and advocating service.

Alpha Phi provides unlimited leadership opportunities, academic support, campus involvement, and most importantly, long-lasting friendships.
As a lifelong commitment, Alpha Phi provides an unparalleled collegiate experience and highlights individual growth through friendship and sisterhood.

Our chapter holds two principal philanthropic events per year: HeartBeat Week and The Red Dress Gala. Both of these events fundraise to support women's cardiac health and the Alpha Phi Foundation.

Alpha Phi Foundation :
In 1956, Alpha Phi became one of the first women’s fraternities to establish a Foundation. It was created as a trust agreement to award scholarships and promote cardiac aid. Today, the original priorities hold true in our five vital programs:

- Supporting innovative leadership training and programming led by Alpha Phi Fraternity
- Awarding scholarships to undergraduate and graduate Alpha Phis
- Investing in the advancement of women’s heart health
- Helping members in need through the Forget Me Not Grant Fund
- Celebrating the forward-thinking women that shaped Alpha Phi by preserving our rich heritage


Alpha Phi also supports the Kali Reinhardt foundation. This foundation

The Kali Reinhardt Leadership Fund was created within the Alpha Phi Foundation to support the leadership development of the women of the Alpha Phi Epsilon Chapter. It honors Kali Reinhardt, a member of the Epsilon chapter from 2014-2018, who passed away in 2020. Kali held numerous leadership positions within the chapter, including Chapter President or “Prez Mama” as she was lovingly referred to. She was an outspoken advocate for female empowerment and pushed all the women in the chapter to be bold, support one another & take action on the things that matter.

In her honor, this fund provides retreats, educational seminars, Alpha Phi international events, and sisterhoods to invest in bold, brave female leaders like Kali. 

Her legacy will go on in perpetuity.

Black Motivated Women is a nonprofit organization established for the expressed purpose of developing leadership skills, and awareness of social responsibilities, and to encourage students to further their education. All Black Motivated Women’s Initiatives are aligned with our four founding pillars of Health, Education, Culture, and Service. BMW serves as a vehicle in educating our community on all aspects of being a black woman (from all nationalities) in today's society. The CEHD International Student Community (CISC) represents international students pursuing education at the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). In 2022, the CISC was founded by members who believe that a community of international students within CEHD is essential to enhancing mutual learning, increasing our presence, and advocating for our needs. The community at the college level is crucial in light of the fact that we share similar interests and challenges.

The aims of CISC are:
To serve as the voice of international students at CEHD by advocating for their rights and interests within CEHD and beyond.
To provide activities specifically designed to meet the needs of CEHD international students, including fun gatherings and academic and career development sessions.
To promote and facilitate conversations between CEHD international students and the university to advocate on behalf of their needs.
To orient international students to the resources available within the University of Minnesota and CEHD.
To create a sense of belonging to CEHD by having a community for international students within CEHD

Activities we offer are:
Engaging activities that CEHD international students get to know each other to build a community
Academic and career seminars that are specifically designed for CEHD international students
Discussion spaces to talk about our struggles and to think strategy for navigation (what needs to be done/changed by College/department/program)

All CEHD international students are welcome to join and organize the program. Our community is open to everyone who is a CEHD international student and who is interested in doing something for this community, so we are always looking for peers. We encourage many CEHD students to bring their own ideas for events. We plan the events together with our peers and offer them as CISC events. We are looking forward to hearing new ideas from you!

Emphasizing the sense of community and adequate oral health within younger generations, Children's Dental Health Advocates (CDHA) drives to raise awareness about the importance of oral healthcare specifically to the lower income students that go to elementary schools in the inner-cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Through fun activities and events hosted by our members, volunteering from our club as a whole, donation of dental supplies, enjoyable educational videos, and so much more. Our mission is to showcase the importance of oral health care especially at a young age, while establishing meaningful relationships and fun memories with the youth!

Some other activities include:
- Tooth brush tally competition between each classroom. This is where we give kids in each classroom at an elementary school a tally chart for each day they brush and floss. The most tallies from a classroom and their students, that classroom will be the winner amongst all the other classrooms and win prizes!
- Host community wide painting/ drawing competition between different elementary schools and their students. Winner will recieve dental supplies and cute awards!
- Have fundraising stands, and events up to help raise money!

Delta Phi Omega was founded on the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities campus on May 1, 2011. The hard work of nine passionate founding mothers has now grown into a network of over 50 sisters. UMTC Colony has walked away with several national awards, and dedicates its time and service to Children's Literacy and Education. We have also been recognized on campus for our recruitment and contributions to Multicultural Greek Life. Sisters from our colony have been recognized as Woman of the Year and as Multicultural Greek Council's President and Secretary. We hope in the coming years that Multicultural Greek Life continues to flourish on this beautiful campus!

Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. is steadfast in its mission to transcend the traditional notions of a sorority by utilizing the power and passion of our sisterhood. Through our commitment to service, the sisters of Delta Phi Omega go above and beyond to ensure the spirit of volunteerism lives on. Our paramount objective to bring awareness and continual support to children's education and literacy. The sisters of Delta Phi Omega are doing their part to ensure that each child is given the power to read and obtain a befitting education, by educating the public on the epidemic of illiteracy, fundraising for our philanthropic partners, and volunteering in literacy and educational settings. This mission has been realized most publicly through the sorority's annual Literacy Through Unity week, a national initiative which to date has raised over $34,000 for children's education and literacy.

The Environmental Student Association (ESA) aims to connect students who share similar values and ideas about their relationship with the environment. ESA is a community focused on improving the environment we live in through collaboration, education, and outreach. Everyone is welcome at ESA, regardless of their level of knowledge or experience. By raising environmental awareness both within our student group and to the larger community around us, we believe that one day we can create a more sustainable future for people and our planet.
Meetings are held every Monday night from 6-7pm in Bruininks 330. Can't commit to weekly meetings? No problem, come when you can and join us at events such as thrifting, hiking, gardening, trash pick-ups, visits to the farmers market, sustainable arts and crafts, networking opportunities, community outreach/activism, and more!
