The ADEA Chapter for Students, Residents and Fellows at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is free to join for all students in the DH, DT, and DDS programs, as well as residents and fellows in the field of dentistry. Events are open to all students, residents, and fellows. Membership provides access to leadership roles and planning for events such as sticker and succulent sales, lunch and learns, and faculty panels. Additionally, members are able to attend the ADEA Annual Conference in the spring, which is a national event.

The Aging Studies Interdisciplinary Group (ASIG) is a collaborative organization for graduate, professional, and undergraduate students studying aging in programs across the University. ASIG is student led and promotes the development of critical engagement across disciplines and explores diverse approaches to knowledge and inquiry related to aging education and research.

Together we:

Encourage thoughtful discussions about approaching issues around aging,
Explore different theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, and changing conceptualizations of knowledge in aging,
Provide concrete opportunities for students to hone professional skills,
Focus on theoretical and pragmatic aspects of gerontology, and
Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration

AIChE is here to support academic success by bringing chemical engineers together and creating a space to allow them to build relationships to better support themselves throughout their academic career. Our mission is to create a community within the Chemical Engineering field here at the University of Minnesota. We strive to enhance the lifelong career development of chemical engineers through exchange of information and collaborative efforts among industry, university, and professional groups.

We focus on the future careers and internships of our members by bringing in various companies to talk about themselves and their job openings as well as providing opportunities for members to learn more about what a career in research might look like.

Our group's programming is centered around various events including industry info sessions, monthly general meetings, games, and more!

American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is an international organization that promotes the art, science & practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe. The goal of the ASME Student Section at the UMN is to promote these same values as well as to provide a community for engineering students at the University of Minnesota.

ASME hosts social and professional development events throughout the year, which are open to all engineering students at the UMN. The student section also holds general meetings, section design competitions, volunteer opportunities, and more!

App Developers Club is for students who are interested in all aspects of developing. The Arts and Medicine group is a place for medical students and other health professionals to engage with and learn about written, 2D, and performance media from/with their classmates in medicine, and from professionals who have found means of bringing their art into the medical sphere. The Astronomy Club strives to build a community of students with an interest in astronomy and to promote awareness of astronomical events. In practice, members gather for game nights, astronomy trivia, professor talks, space presentations, stargazing nights, and outreach events. For astro majors, it is a great way to meet other astro majors, and for other majors, it's a great way to get your astronomy fix! We know being an astro nerd and being an astro major don't always go hand-in-hand, so we gladly welcome students from all across the university to talk about space. The mission of the College of Biological Sciences (CBS) Student Events Board is to work with students, faculty, and staff within CBS and across the University to create an environment that is welcoming and fosters a sense of community. The Community Engagement Scholars Program (CESP) is a program for students who want to make a commitment to community engagement during their undergraduate experience. Students complete 400 hours of community engagement work, participate in reflective workshops and assignments, and complete a 1 credit senior capstone project. Because of the rigorous nature of the program, students are also recognized by the Board of Regents with a notation on their official transcript and a medal of distinction. The program is open to all undergraduate students in every major and college. The Community Engagement Scholars Program Leaders Board works to build community within the program by planning social events, hosting student-led conferences, leading workshops, and encouraging UMN students to join CESP.

The Commuter Connection aims to foster a relationship between commuter students and the University of Minnesota campus community. Our purpose is to simply provide a welcoming space, both physical and digital, for commuter students to interact with one another and gain access to campus resources.

Our space in the Memorial Union, Room 204, is open to all students but is specifically targeted towards the needs and interests of commuter students. Our room provides storage space, free printing, microwave, fridge, utensils, and leisure space that fit the needs of many students who commute to campus. In addition to these resources, our room is also a space where commuter students can meet, get to know one another, and build a sense of community. Finding opportunities to connect with other students outside of the classroom is essential in the commuter student experience. We host events such as Scary-Oke, Pal-entine's Day, game nights, Muffin Mondays, and more to encourage students to create long lasting relationships that will follow them through their time as a student at the U of M. We are also open to collaborations with other student groups, including the wonderful cultural centers that we share space with at the Memorial Union. Some of our other programming includes our Discord server, and other virtual forms of programming and communication.
